Fair point, but I've always considered the likes of Totti an exeption: there are a number of players who have represented two or three of the top clubs, and you have big name players transferring to their club's 'rivals'. How many big name clubs had Fabio Cannavaro played for (and he's the sort of player you would expect to be loyal)? Over here it's pretty rare to have players transferring between United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. I'd need some more examples to back up my argument though.

Angelo di Livio is another you should mention: didn't he stay with Fiorentina when they were relegated to Serie C2 or something? He was at the end of his career though.
1/ He has gone Napoli, Parma, Inter, Juventus, and now Real Madrid

2/ Even got picked for Italy.

Fabio Cannavaro supports Napoli and is a native of Naples, he has no real love for any club other than the Azzurri. Though he is a loyal player in that he was sold by all his clubs, Napoli, Parma, Inter and Juventus (though he was happy to leave the latter once demotion had occurred). His loyalty to Napoli and especially Parma was more than evident, he even signed a pact with Buffon and Thuram in 1998 which pledged his future with Parma regardless, only to see the club go tit ass and himself being one of the first players forced out in 2002, much to his disappointment.

Don't you mean Francesco Coco?

And if anybody who remembers him and wonders what has happened to him, he sits there rotting in the reserves, waiting to January to be sold/loaned off. Sampdoria has been mooted in the past, maybe he will join them or a team like Siena or Catania perhaps. That is a fall of grace for you, a member of Italy's 2002 World Cup squad to this
Don’t know about Coco but Recoba won’t be paid for the last year of his contract with Inter. If he is sold this summer or in January, highly unlikely because the Chairman has a hard on for him he will just pay back the money to Inter.

Coco said a few years ago he is prepared to play for free for his last year on his contract as a thank you for sticking by him through his injuries.

Something I want to know and have always been meaning to ask: Why is there only 5 subs (really 4 if you have a back-up goalie) in England yet everywhere else and in Scotland they all have 7 subs?

Just seems like an odd thing yet they go into European competitions (Champions League, UEFA Cup, Intertoto) they can all have 7? And wouldn't it better to have two more and perhaps a clubs developing players stand more of a chance of being picked at least.

I can understand only having 5 in the lower divisions (League 1 or 2 and below), but I think for the Premiership and at least for the Championships, 7 would make life lot easier for managers.

Not sure actually Craig - it is a strange one.

Scotland have a slightly different rules as well, as I think they can name 5 subs without restrictions, but the last 2 have to be under 21 or something.

Five is enough imo. 7 is giving the managers too many options, should be able to pick a good enough side in the first place

There are this year. Blame Terry's absence, obviously has a huge impact on the back line based on recent results.

The important thing for Chelsea is that they are fighting back despite it. Missing the top two goal keepers and Terry does hurt but it also shows the bench strength isn't the strongest where the defense line is concerned.

Hilario obviously can't match up to Cech, but Chelsea have only just been scraping results since Terry hasn't been playing. Stands to reason as well that if you're struggling at the back the goalkeeper is going to have more to do and is more likely to be shown up.

The only good thing to come from Man Utd 3-1 Wigan is that Ronaldo has scored 2 and had an assist. Not looking good for Dale. :p

EDIT: And now Lita has scored. More points
