Ah football, it may be a complete joke but at least that means it is good for a laugh.

Oh and I think it's about time they got the old pistol out for Giggs and put him down.

That's what it sounded like on telly. Kanu too.
I would've thought the Kanu was more them saying his name (like they used to when he played) - I did watch taht game, but can't remember the exact circumstances...

Look I think AEK's win was the best of them all :p

Anyway should be interesting to see what Chelsea do against a red hot Werder Bremen side and with an mportant clash against Manchester United this weekend, Mourinho would be tempted to rest some players for the upcoming game and increase Bremen's chances of winning (and no Barcelona to deal with).

Good to see Theo Walcott will be playing more games now.

Must say Saha was very honest tho. Didn't bother to put in a good shot when he was clearly offside. :D
Replays showed he was onside - he just thought he was off himself.

I've never ever seen us look as comfortable as we were last night and lose.

Dodgy. I thought he looked an inch offside tbh, even though the Celtic player was leaning backwards. So did our commentators.

Linesmen have enough trouble getting it right when someone is 2-3 yards offside or onside, let alone 'an inch'.

The commentators said he was onside when he was called offside on an earlier 1 on 1, I didn't see the replay properly to say for definite.

Anyways football needs an ice hockey type offside or needs to employ technology to have some credibility again, I'd be surprised if linesmen get the majority of the close onside/offside decisions right and the ****ups rarely balance out.

Half a foot was all that was in it. So hard for the linesmen.

Manchester United have made a fresh move for Atletico Madrid's Spanish international striker Fernando Torres - but have been told the price is £25m. (Daily Mirror)

Really thats just music to my ears..

West Ham with their new owners could be looking at Shaun Wright-Phillips come January. It will be interesting now what will happen to Tevez and Mascherano since MSI haven't been able to buy the club (well that's how I read it - http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=393611&cc=3436).

I have never understood them and their transfer policies. Why have Wright-Phillips and go buy Kalou after selling Duff. Why not keep him instead?

If MU win this weekend then they have every chance IMO of staging an upset and winning the EPL and would deserve to be favourites, but if Chelsea win then I think they will go on and get the Premiership. Should be a very good game and I think will define how the season will pan out.

Where is Piscine gloating about Bolton beating Arsenal?

What a day for BB, Arsenal lose and England got a hiding in the rugby, and the less said about Brisbane the better
