If he knows best why didn't he sign a replacement for Vieria, or another right winger or another defender, or a 'keeper, or perhaps another striker?sledger said:arsenal start tonights match with reyes up front which is the right move as far as im concerned, intresting to see hleb left on the bench but wenger knows best after all, hopefully a comfortable and convincing arsenal win, but being the hardened arsenal fan that i am i know better, and am expecting to see a dire tedious, scrappy affair played out in which arsenal either draw or win un-convincingly, hopefully i will be pleasently suprised.
And the likes of Jordan ahead of Northern Ireland. And I would back them to beat Jordan nay day.Pothas said:doesnt really matter in my opinion those rankings give a very inacuarate picture with the likes of the US and Mexico being far higher than they should be
doubting wengers judgement has proven to be a very silly move in the years he has been a manager, wenger had baptista and robinho in line to help replace vieira, but seeing as he couldnt get either of those he didnt delve into some stupid panic transfer, the way i see it is that there are no players wenger judges to be good enough to replace vieira that are within arsenals reach, with that being the case then there is no reason to go out and buy a second rate player who will never live up to what vieira was capable of who will fall on the scrap heap in a years time. Secondly pires isnt a right winger, he plays primarily on the left, he only appears on the right when he and hleb switch flanks throughout the match, he is no way stuck out on the right wing. And thirdly have you ever even see mart poom play? he isnt terrible but hes only been signed as cover for lehmann and almunia untill the january transfer window when wenger will have the chance to but a new keeper, the chances of him actually getting a game are slim to nothing.Craig said:If he knows best why didn't he sign a replacement for Vieria, or another right winger or another defender, or a 'keeper, or perhaps another striker?
Fabrages and Flamini might be something special, but if one of them and Gilberto gets injured they are screwed. And I don't really rate Pires as a right winger.
Also why not new 'keeper? I mean if Mart Poom is 3rd or 4th choice for Sunderland then it tells me a lot about him.
If fortune is unavailble then silvestre could switch too left back and then wes brown would have to partner ferdinandsledger said:not quinton fortune ? or is he injured as well ?
whos gonna regret selling phil neville now ?
Him and Kirkland really are the latest sicknotes of football.roseboy64 said:Wes Brown's injured.
This is just as bad as losing Ruud last season. Hopefully Kieran can do well until Neville comes back to get a more experienced guy on the left like O'Shea or Silvestre.twctopcat said:Jeez, Heinze out for "most of the season" with cruciate ligament damage. That is not good news and will be a big blow to efforts on all fronts. Apparently Kieran Richardson will replace him for the Liverpool, which doesn't fill me with confidence.
You have 13m to go and buy any player to replace Vieria that is good enough, and only getting 13/ He should have at least got a few more bucks at least and there would have problems with Robinho getting a work permit (not sure about Bapista).sledger said:doubting wengers judgement has proven to be a very silly move in the years he has been a manager, wenger had baptista and robinho in line to help replace vieira, but seeing as he couldnt get either of those he didnt delve into some stupid panic transfer, the way i see it is that there are no players wenger judges to be good enough to replace vieira that are within arsenals reach, with that being the case then there is no reason to go out and buy a second rate player who will never live up to what vieira was capable of who will fall on the scrap heap in a years time. So is Sol Campbell (in years gone by Andrew Flintoff would have won this award in a canter).Scaly piscine said:Him and Kirkland really are the latest sicknotes of football.
how many players could you buy for 13m who are of vieiras standard ? none thats how many, no need to buy young players who will potentially be that good either due to cesc and flamini.Craig said:You have 13m to go and buy any player to replace Vieria that is good enough, and only getting 13/ He should have at least got a few more bucks at least and there would have problems with Robinho getting a work permit (not sure about Bapista).
And I'm aware Pires isn't a right winger so why didn't he go and buy a a decent right winger if Ljungberg gets injured? This is what I'm questioning about.
You have a stack of left wingers but how many right wingers do you have and are good?
to be honest i dont think its anywhere near that bad, although hes a very decent player hes no way as integral to man utd as nistelrooy is, oshea is a very good player and has shown that he can play all across the defence effectively, so its not as bad as many are making out if you ask me, it just leaves them a defender short, as several of their other players can play left back.roseboy64 said:This is just as bad as losing Ruud last season.
