I don't feel Adriano's the greatest but he's getting there fast though.
He is the complete striker. Sure Henry is quicker and probably has the ability to score more stupendous goals, Adriano is strong, quick, has great feet and is the most deadly finisher in the world from 20yds and in. This will only be truly known when Brazil win next year.

Henry's signed for Inter?!?!?! :-O :p

SP's gonna be all over that one....
The CDMs' chief poseur is such an elusive player that he almost disappears completely in the big games.

Never said Henry was the best either. No one right now strikes me as that but as I said before Adriano's getting there. He's definitely past Ronaldo now at least atm.

Very true, ronaldo is still great but his knees have meant he isn't what he was, which was something brilliant in his eindhoven/barca/early inter years, which is up there with the best i've ever seen. As for Adriano i see him as his reincarnation with the ability to go even further, fitness permitting.

I really like this guy Haddin, he plays straight and is good both sides of the wicket......
If anyone is confused by this quote please refer to this url:

some of the funniest stuff ive seen in awhile, dean jones for Aussie prime minister, according to fatty jones, Australia should be looking to average a cool 1000 runs most innings! And of course he 'loves' every guy in the team although i doubt they give a **** about him.

Edit: "He just knows how to get results and is an amazing cricketer"

Another favourite, what does that even mean?

and of course the bloodhound and swiss watch are givens.

I disagree - we have nobody to play the base of it.
Well there is Gerrard and that is what England have played with and it has worked with? Or 4-3-1-2 could suit England. But either way I don't think playing 4-5-1 suits England and unless you are trying to close down a match in the second half in a tight game is when I see it's relevance, is too negative and could come back to hurt you if you need to get goals.

If you want to play 4-5-1, why not 4-2-3-1 as it is more attacking type of fomation when with the ball and it could turn into 4-5-1 in defence.

But inter do have the greatest striker in the world. Reason enough to support them in my book. :)
Of course there is that side too (although don't speak to me about the result against certain teams from Sicily).

Did anybody watch the Real Madrid - Celta Vigo match? It was quite a good game with Robinho and Bapista impressing for Real (although I disagree with the logic of putting on Garcia for Beckham), it had it all with goals, good performances, and dodgy ref decisions (no way in hell was Bapista was fouled in the box in the first half and there is also no way Celta's 3rd goal was a goal since it didn't go in).

Well about 18 months ago someone spotted (I'm surprised no-one had noticed it before, frankly) that Gerrard can't actually tackle, which means he's not really the ideal candidate for the holding role.

Nicky Butt is the only player who I'd play in that role (well, who's English-qualified, I mean), but that would mean Sven making David very unhappy which I don't think he has the cojones for.

Gerrard isn't suited to the role, too attacking.

4-2-3-1 doesn't work IMO because Rooney has a fit if he can't play where he wants.

Rooney played a couple of games on the right wing for Everton with reasonable success.

And it's 2, I think, Colin

Yep, provided we win them both. If not we may have two more to face in the play-offs.
