Replaying a league match would set a dangerous precedent, I'm sorry but Tottenham don't have a leg to stand on, if they did they would have refused to play the game anyway, but they knew they could be docked points and end up missing out on the UEFA Cup - that would have been ironic
You've just given the reason to your own point, and that's the reason why Tottenham played the game, despite the poisoning.

Decent start to the UEFA Cup final, usual non-booking for a professional foul (block) there on Downing.
He's almost legally obliged to break a metatarsal now he's in the England squad, isn't he?

Loving Schwarzer's mask, BTW. Kinda Hannibal Lector meets Zorro.

Don't think Boro will win, but it'll be the first time I'll be supporting an English team in a European final for a long time, if not ever.

And another thing, all the injuries Newcastle have had this season, they should ask for the first 23 games to be replayed, if you convert the points from the remaining games of the season across the whole season they finish 4th, so it's only fair
And Birmingham shouldn't be relegated...

And if there hadn't been this food poisoning, arguably Tottenham would have gained more points (and I'm far from convinced that there's no foul play here).
Of course neglecting to credit West Ham for the way they played.

All this talk about it was the food poisoning that did it - yet West Ham played extremely well on Sunday to get the 3 points, why should they be penalised?

And since the police have closed the case I believe, what's the foul play?

Boro soundly thrashed by a far superior side. A bit of a shame and they will point to that penalty appeal but Seville were a class above.

If the penalty had been given and scored, Boro would've won IMO.

Over the 90 Sevilla were the better side, but not by anywhere near 4-0.

Bit harsh result for Middlesbrough. If Viduka had finished better as well could have been much different.

In retrospect you'd say the decision to go to 4-2-4 when only the one down looks a bit of a smeller...

Keegan's phrase keeps coming into my mind "A bit short at the highest level". Hope I'm wrong, but hmm...

Oh well, there ends any English interest in Europe this season. Viduka hitting the keeper from little more than 6 yards out was the turning point.

Except that other English team in the Champions League final.......

Last i heard North London was still a part of England, otherwise might have to see if Marriott have hotels abroad.

What else did Boro expect, they were an embarrassment not just the players but the fans, completely unmotivated tools. You are meant to make some sort of noise but what else do you expect from such fans. Probably was still in awe that they have been on a airplane, did you know that 75% of the population of the ‘beautiful’ city of Middlesbrough don’t have passports. Presumably because they are all seemingly so happy and content with life up north, they do say ignorance is best.

But seriously Boro’s luck run out against Basel and Bucharest but Sevilla were worthy champions. Played football the way it should be played and Jesus Navas looks like a real talent, been labelled the new Reyes but he seems far more direct and precise. Nevertheless McClaren’s inept game plan deserved nothing more than a beating. 4-0 may not be a fair reflection but Boro’s performances against Basel and Bucharest did not deserve progression also.

2 sentences, both of them incorrect - at least you're consistent.

Would've been interesting to see how Seville coped with the pressure if 'Boro had scored from what was a certain peno, I doubt they'd have **** themselves like Basel and Bucharest did but one never knows.

If it was a La Liga match that would have been a penalty as we all know they go down like they have been shot. Whilst the technical skill is pretty good and the overall standard is very high, some players are just soft.

Well if Barcelona don't win the Champions League Final then they never will so he kind of had a point. Whilst Arsenal have done a great job getting there, I don't know if they can stop them.
