Rooney out for 6 weeks. Doesnt look good as its 6 weeks until the tournament starts but he could make it.

I was 7, and my mum didn't let me stay up to watch the penalties.
Mine did. :D

However I wasn't really a footy fan at the time, and I don't remember much of it except my dad shouted and celebrated a lot afterwards.

damn just heard the news on Rooney, gosh everything has to go well with him in the next 6 weeks. I hope all the injured blokes along with Rooney recover in time.

One good thing for Man Utd is that at least Rossi will get a first team chance. Bad for England though. Should be able to make it out of the group stage without him though and hopefully he'll be something near match fit by then.

Will be a risk to take him now, he did it with Beckham last time and he was poor really. Just have to hope Owen is fit and play Cole behind perhaps.

On a great day like this, it has to be marred by Rooney's injury scare. Still I would rather bargain on his being fit than Owens chances. Owen has been out for too long to make a firm impression that we need during the finals.

I'm a tad concerned now

You'll do for me.

I might anger LE now, but I quite like Forest. Some family moved down there.
Not angry at all - I make allowances for lots of things, and besides, it's still the day that my team were saved and I shook the hand of the man who led the consortium that did the saving so I'm still in a good mood. Not only that, my sister and brother-in-law came round for dinner (excellent company - fellow Rams fanatics) and Mrs LE made an awesomely fantastic curry.

Is this one of those "bad meaning good" things that the youth of today confuse old folks like me with? :p
So if I describe aussie as intelligent, that really means 'moron'?

Oh right. IIRC, that game was during the day, though.
It was indeed, I was in the process of winning a footy tournament during normal time then came in for penalty action. :cool2:

The Rooney thing is a disaster, we now have Peter Crouch as our only fit striker. And that isn't going to get us anywhere. Bring in Dean Ashton please, thank you.

Or the Newcastle job mebee.
Personally Roeder (if he still can) should get the job full-time, he certainty has earnt it and has finally got them playing like a team.

Has Curblishly resigned effect immediatley or will he continue onto the end of the season and then go?

If it means we have to start him on the bench and nurse him back through the group games then so be it - he could have half an hour in each of those 3 and almost be back to fitness by the knockout stages...

The thing is last time Owen missed a lot of Football, he came back and scored goals straight away - and he's still got 6 weeks to get the match sharpness back...

It'll be up to the FA as to whether they allow him as he hasn't got his pro licence thingy and won't start the course till June - seems a bit harsh if he's not allowed since he's got the other award things he had to pass.
