*Official* English Football Season 2005-06

Think we looked fairly comfortable until the last five minutes when we inexplicably sat back & invited pressure onto us.

Villareal look to be a team unused to playing on the front foot, as it were. Happier being counter-punchers.

lmao @ penalty award

The CDMs are being outdone in every nasty, cheating facet of the game. Villareal are a disgrace to football really. I don't even care which of these two teams gets through anymore - Villareal are that bad.

lol, Arsenal have been so poor today, they've deserved to lose about 3-0.

but for me the guy went down like a complete sack of spuds and i know as a player how annoying that is.

Lehmann will not be beaten will he?

You're going soft in your old age, Scaly

Well done Arsenal - they might have deserved to lose today, but an English team in the final of the Champions League for the second year running can be nothing but a fantastic thing for English football. :)

Never in any doubt.

Nah, seriously my hands are ****ing shaking as I type. Riquelme really didn't fancy it, did he? The great white hope of Argentina is a bottle-job! :D

Bring on AC!

Let's hope the rest of Argentina is the same, eh? I have no doubt we'll draw them this summer at some point! :D

Once again, well done Arsenal. :)

Just browsed back through to the start of the thread. Not a bad call, this.

Ahem.

Anyway it was a tough call whether to root for the Argie bottle-job or the German beaten by penalty scenario. I guess Argie bottle-job is better because of the expectations of the penalty being scored anyway.

I know I sound bitter, but they really did deserve to get hammered. Still, result is what counts I suppose.
Wenger just said more or less the same thing, to his credit. We were toilet in the 2nd half, but hey, like you say, it was all about the result tonight. :)

I was going to post just that... then I figured I'd annoy too many people, and knew you'd do my job for me. :D

Yeah I was impressed by Wenger actually, though part of me is thinking he is trying to make up for his disgraceful comments on Saturday.
