Mansfield's slim playoff hope has been put to rest with two losses over Easter :(
a completely Carlton Plamer-less season next year should see us nearer though :)

Not really. Chelsea need one more point to win the title, I wouldn't call it that open.
It's not been open since the middle of August, regardless of what some deluded people have been trying to tell us.

It was open from about last month to last Friday thank you.
No, it was technically just about feasible mathematically that Chelsea wouldn't win it.

The Premiership as a sporting contest is now a 'nothing' event. The sooner the G10 or G14or whatever they call themselves prima-donnas clear off and form their own European super-league and restrict their television appearances at home to pay-per-view the better.

no if Man U had not drew with sunderland the other day and won all its matches leading up to the Chelsea clash on the 29th, that match could have have be key to deciding who won the title.

Only if Chelsea had lost other games as well.

The title "race" has always been out of every other sides hands, and it was over pretty much before it started.

So you would say the same about say the Italian, the Spanish, or perhaps the German leagues?

Pretty much - and the big two or three from each league can go and play each other week in, week out for as long as they want.

The Spanish is a two-horse or three at best race, certainly, and has been for as long as I can remember.

The German one has thrown up the occasional surprise, but the Italian league is the biggest travesty of them all.

The winner there is invariably the most corrupt, blatantly cheating club that pays the biggest bribes - at least when Juventus win, anyway.

eddie, the Premiership would be even more of a farce if the G14 had their way, given that Chelsea is not a member of the latter, so it would (on current standings) be Chelsea, Tottenham, Blackburn, Newcastle as the top four, with Chelsea winning it every season for some time.

Still seething from the European Cup Semi Finals in the early 70's?
I'd nearly forgotten about that and now you've re-opened old wounds ;)

No, I read something about modern-day Juventus and 'questionable matters' the other day, and thought something about leopards and spots.

I guess I'm looking for a redistribution of wealth, like the good socialist I am.

Six hours until Milan vs. Barcelona! Whoever wins should win the Champions League.

And you know what, as awesome as Barca are, you really can't pick a winner. I've got my AC Milan Jersey on with my Maldini name and the number #3... I reckon they can do it!

My picks for the final are Milan and Villa.
