I don't care to be honest, it is a pretty undesputable fact that if Chelsea hadn't been taken over, they'd still be a 4th/5th side in all probability, and we'd now be top, so while we're a patch of the team we were, I do think the crisis is being a bit overplayed a bit.

I'd be interested to see points comparisons with this season compared with other, title winning seasons for us, I don't think there'd be much difference in all honesty.

You just don't get it do you? Man United are ****! All of their good players have either left, or become old and slow like Giggs. The new 'talent' coming along consists of Darren Fletcher, classic symptoms of a team in decline.

I thought Chelsea had pretty much become 'the' third team behind Arsenal and Man Utd once Leeds began to suck....

 Fletcher, the #1 up and coming player of Manchester United, everyone.

Good on ya, Man Utd. :) And good job to Wigan for making the final, too, it's always good to see a team do so well in their first season.

EDIT: And Halsey is spot-on - I'm pretty sure they were saying in reports recently that Man Utd are having one of their best seasons... although that's only to this point, and I think they have a habit of finishing late, right?

Yes, because 2 seasons ago this so called 4th/5th side came 2nd to Arsenal, 4 points clear of 3rd place and 19 clear of 4th...

I rate Darren Fletcher. Seems like I'm the only one, though...
Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good player. I'm just saying that for him to point out Fletcher as the symbol of Man Utd's talent is a joke.

Abramovich was in charge then. He had one season of Ranieri, then chucked him.

That's his point. Two seasons ago, when they were 2nd...

Chelsea had been bolstered by a £100 million outlay on world-class players, a spree funded by the extensive financial resources of their new owner Roman Abramovich.
EDIT: Beaten to it.

Love him or hate him, the symbol of Man U's talent is Cristiano Ronaldo. That is all.

I seem to remember looking at the people Ranieri bought and thinking they weren't that special.....whereas now there's a squad where a Chelsea B team would finish in the top half of the Premier League

No Rooney is the best sign of United's talent. Seriously, he's one of the ten best players in the world right. In no order:

Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Lampard, Nesta, Eto'o, Riquelme, Makalele, Totti, Cannavaro... and Rooney.

Granted Ronaldo would be in my top 15 and knocking on top 10.

I have doubts over Eto's temperment when playing for the biggest moments, where say a penalty is do or die for his team.

Let's face it he chickened when they had a penalty they had to convert to get into the World Cup, left it Wome, which Wome missed, and the resulting actions of the backlash by Cameroon Ultra's and the falling out between them two. And don't even mention the African Nations Cup penalty shoot-out...

Ah yes, he came in just before the season, cue lots of buying without thinking of the team shape.

Nesta and Cannavaro?

Hmm...

Nesta and Cannavaro are Italy's new guard of defense. Not as good as Maldini and Baresi... but they're the new guard. Are you sure your not underrating them because defenders can be taken for granted?

Maldini may have been the greatest player in the world from 1992-1996 before Ronaldo took over. Yet he only got one major award as the best player in the world. Forget which one, but he gave a great speech on how defenders are the forgotten people in football when it comes to ranking greats.

"New guard"?

Aren't they both over 30?

They're good defenders I'll agree, but not top 10 in the world players IMO.

Especially when someone like Gerrard isn't in there.
