If he's so much more than that why does he have such lousy stats against good teams at his peak?
I can't be bothered with this any more. I really can't. You've been through the same point over and over - we produce evidence as to why he's good, you say "but he doesn't do it against the big teams", we produce evidence that he does, you say "but he doesn't do it against the big teams", etc etc......repeat ad infinitum. 8-)

He also provided evidence to back up his point as well so it's basically of no point to continue.
He provided significantly less than we did.

Anyway, it's useless debating whether Henry is world class or not because anyone who understands football knows he is anyway.

I agree.

Poor Woodgate. On the brink of an England recall and then he gets injured again. Marc's view that he won't stay fit long enough to make the WC squad doesn't look wrong now.

Yeah, to be honest I can't see him playing more than 20 games this season, and whatever Eriksson may think about the likes of Kieran Richardson, that's not enough to get you to a World Cup, even if you do play well.

You didn't show anything, the best you could come up with is... oh look he scored the odd goal here, that means he's brilliant then (I guess you now think Fletcher is elevated to above Pele due to his goal against Chelsea and Mark Butcher is a god because he scored 140+ against Australia). That's about as far as your argument went, I've shown that his record is rubbish against quality sides and now you're trying to weasel out of it because you've got no retort and you know I'm right. Henry is a good player, but he's not special and he's not fit to lace Maradona's boots - could Henry dribble the ball from the half-way line, beat 5-6 players and score against a side like England? No chance. People across the world will still remember Maradona, Pele etc. in 20 years time, only CDMs fans and football anoraks will remember Henry - not special.

I think that sentence would just be enough for every post you've made on the subject.
Yawn, wouldn't be a debate without marc the intellect chiming in with his pearls of wisdom would it?

This from someone who compares someone who has an average International record and is anonymous in the big games with 4 all time greats in the game - now that's funny.
I clearly said that he is world class in a different sense. Please read my post. If you think the things he can do with the ball is below world class then i would like to see what is world class, as it would be truly stupendous. He has been exemplary in the premiership against all comers and put in some brilliant performances in europe. I know he has underperformed for France but that is as much because he doesn't have the licence to roam that Wenger allows him and we know many player nowadays who don't perform as well for their country yet are world class for their team. This seems a recurrent trend. However this certainly shouldn't detract from the sheer brilliance that Henry has with a football. A more obvious thing there has never been.

The one I asked it of is yet to answer.

Funny that...
I'm so used to skipping your generally pointless one-liners I've probably not even read whatever your question was.

Would someone tell Owen he's playing football not cricket, you don't spend a minute appealing while the ball bounces around nearby.

Ah, always enjoyable beating the Argies - whatever the occasion.

Amusing that after Crouch comes on Owen scores with 2 headers.

although Crouch can claim an assist for the third goal, gave the header a bit of extra pace behind it
