*Official* English Domestic Season Thread 2010

U19 Captain
Ravi 88* against Northants to lead Essex to victory. How was he not in the 12 for the 1st Test? He's in ridiculous form. His scores of late off the top of my head include 59, 89*, 164, 105*, 45*, 142, 102 and now 88*. He's having a superb 2nd half of the season. WAG.
He's not in the 12 because he has a track record of not getting the job done against quality opposition.

Ramps mark 2?

Made it a bit difficult for ourselves at the end but made it.

Vince played so well apart from a bit of dodgy running, the youngsters won that match for us.

Beer keeps Monty out of the Sussex lineup?
Beer 20 wickets in 26 games @29.5, Economy rate 7.37

Panesar 12 wickets in 19 games @38.41 ER 7.55

Haven't seen him field much but even if Beer is the second worst fielder in the country, he's probably still twice as useful in the field as Monty as well.

Beer's better with ball, bat and in the field. Not the most surprising of selections TBH.

Hampshire make finals day :D Didn't look like we would early season, but we've started to play some decent cricket in the 2nd half of the season. Jimmy Adams has been awesome, and the young lads have really stepped up and played well. Wood and Briggs have been excellent with the ball, Vince has contributed at times with the bat and the young keeper has looked seriously impressive with the gloves. Promising signs; could do with a firing Michael Lumb for finals day, but I reckon we've got a chance.

More brilliant bowling from Yardy. His development as a one day bowler has been exceptional, he's turned himself from a nothing medium pacer to a genuine 2nd spin option not only in County Cricket but in T20 and OD cricket for England. Excellent stuff.

ROFL Moores is officially mad, he has left Chanderpaul out of the squad for the T20 QF in favour of Chilton....words escape me

Chanderpaul is pretty awful in T20. He basically knocked us out in the semi-final by crawling at a run a ball for 40odd on a typical anti-cricket ****house pitch. Speaking of anti-cricket they got knocked out by Nottinghamshire, shame. Saves us all being humiliated in the Champions League, except of course we're not in it anyway.

We're talking about Mark Chilton here though...

Just six boundaries in 14 overs, this is grim stuff. Presumably the Taunton crowd are happy enough with it though.

Andrew Hall must be vying for a place in the Best Beard in Sport thread, he's got some impressive facial hair going on ATM.

Somerset should walk this TBH, shame there's no Pollard to come in and make this target even easier to reach, but they should still get there with ease. Trescothick's in superb form and if he gets going this'll be over quickly.

Anyone fancy popping down to Chelmsford and shutting the prat that keeps shouting "EEEESSSSSSSSEXXXXXXXX" at the top of his voice up?
