Just got in from preseason training (**** me)...looking like we will get a decent score...or is this pitch flat as?

Not sure about Saj at 5, perhaps thats why we thought we didnt need Chanders? smashes a big one as we speak

Anyone fancy popping down to Chelmsford and shutting the prat that keeps shouting "EEEESSSSSSSSEXXXXXXXX" at the top of his voice up?
That isn't Nass off-mic is it?

120-3 in the 15th, with so much batting to come they should really be looking for another 50.

Yeah, excellent over that. I've been critical of him in the past, but he's impressed me this season. His death bowling has been superb whenever I've seen him on Sky this season. Just wish he was bowling alongside Napier at the death, the fella on loan from Notts doesn't look much cop.

Just three extras in a total of 150 - good effort that from Essex even if Foster hasn't quite been at his best.

Great effort this from Chapple. Can barely walk, but is still bowling at 85mph and beating the bat of Mark Pettini. He going to be able to get through 4 overs though?

Have to say Essex's batting lineup is horribly lacking in any depth, even by T20 standards. There's pretty much nothing after 6, and the top 6 includes a T20 debutant (Westley) who has a short and rubbish List A record and Grant Flower.

Chapple has actually been pretty rubbish in T20 so far this year, think he's only bowled his full allocation 3 or 4 times. we've gone in with 6 front line bowlers so he wouldn't normally have to either but with the moisture out there the spinners might struggle

The only shocker is the shot, abysmal batting really, such a nothing shot. Nothing to do with the ocassion I don't think, just a poor cricket shot.

has to be not out surely

just 4 boundaries in the powerplay and two of them were misfields, decent effort so far

Pettini looking really good here. Essex need him to bat until at least the 16th over if they're going to have a chance here, will be entertaining if he does manage to do that, do enjoy watching him bat.

 Yep. The 3rd umpire has had some really tough decisions to make so far, he just isn't getting the angles and the close-ups you'd need to make a conclusive decision. Pettini did look not out, though it could have been dangerous if Mahmood had hit the stumps direct.
