Not looking good for Warwicks, 251 behind with 2 days behind, even with 7 wickets in hand.
As for the final relegated side I'd guess Middlesex

Its not meaningless as far as hampshire are concerned and they have all week too recover from the game i dont see how playing one match can do any harm too a player it will just help keep them in good form considering the australians are playing between now and the next test. I was really looking forward too seeing pieterson and vaughan on saturday and the central contracts sayp players will be realeased for knock out games.marc71178 said:Why is it a disgrace to rest some clearly knackered players from a meaningless game?
The Ashes are so much more important than some meaningless knock-out competition (and as a Warwickshire we're arguably hardest hit by this ruling)
Yeah it was the counties who offered to rest the players not the ECB telling them too.superkingdave said:as far as i know it was the counties that decided to release the players from playing rather than England refusing to let them play. (this from watching the roses match in the pub at lunch)
We would have had a pretty good lead had Kemp/Fulton managed to catch that simple catch (His words not mine).Pothas said:I think Notts will go top or very close when they polish off warwishire and i tohught kent were building a bit of a lead.
If it was going too harm Englands chances of winning the ashes then i would agree but i really dont see how it does and sure if on the morning of the game there was even a slightest doubt about fitness then they dont play. I just think it is a real shame that they arent playing. still i think hampshire should beat yorksihremarc71178 said:Either way, the C & G is meaningless compared to the Ashes, so I don't think any side can moan (and like I said, as a Warwickshire fan, we've been hurt more than any of the other 4 sides)
It's pretty depressing watching Anderson bowling at the moment - down on pace (slower than Corky), no movement, spraying it, getting carted around by Richard Dawson.aussie said:dont know if anyone was watching todays roses match on SKy but an interesting day at OT, Yorks*te 324/6 in 104 overs looks as if Peter Maron again has prepared 2 superb decks in 10 days
There's is valid points in both arguments, at the end of the day if the players feel they need a break then nobody should hold that against them they have just played back to back Tests and above all two very tough games physically and mentally.Pothas said:If it was going too harm Englands chances of winning the ashes then i would agree but i really dont see how it does and sure if on the morning of the game there was even a slightest doubt about fitness then they dont play. They're absolutely shattered - not only physically, but mentally after 2 such tight games in 10 days.Pothas said:If it was going too harm Englands chances of winning the ashes then i would agree but i really dont see how it does and sure if on the morning of the game there was even a slightest doubt about fitness then they dont play.
