Cause he is a great bowler, dealt with sarwan pretty easily last week. He is so accurate and doesnt go for many runs and i think would make a great adiction too the one day side even if am maybe just a tad biased. He can also slog it pretty well with the bat.

I was at the match at Taunton and the tightness of the finish was lessened by the fact I couldn't care less who won and was there as a neutral, but I think Somerset deserved to win. Their fielding was strong and Wood and Blackwell were amazing.

What does Neil have against Matt Wood? he has been immense for Somerset this week, following up his unlucky 297 with a brilliant hundred which transferred everything he had learnt from 2020 into the TSL with brilliant effect. Blackwell just did the blackwell thing, bludgeoning every other ball as hard as he could. Arul Suppiah batted very well too, and only fell to some brilliant glovework from the impressive Ismail Dawood. His bowling restricted Yorkshire very well.

Yorkshire's fielding and bowling were very poor, they dropped about five catches, and made some sloppy mistakes. on the Somerset side their groundfielding was generally excellent, with the exception of a terrible fumble by Wes Durston on the boundary. Hildreth dropped an absolute sitter but made up for it by taking two excellent reaction catches close in. He dropped the easy one and grabbed the hard chances.

Some of my risible photographic efforts to follow...

Blackwell's had his chance - we don't need to go the India route and constantly have problems with finding a fifth bowler when there's Flintoff around. Gilo will do me nicely.

And I'd pick Tremlett over Mascarenhas any day.
Blackwell's bowling in ODIs was pretty decent actually, certainly comparable with Giles.

Who was the last 70mph dobber to have any International success?

If we wanted pasties, we'd have kept Mark Ealham.

you sure he is that slow, when Hampshire played Lancashire in the CC up here early this season he seemed to be a high 70mph, early 80mph bowler....

Every time I see him run in it looks like he's either having electric shocks passed through his body or his arms and legs are about to fall of. It seems so inefficient.

I saw Mascarenhas bowl for the first time the other day. Someone please explain to me how 70mph dobbers are supposed to cause any International batsmen any issues?
Erm Jon Lewis did take 3 in the Twenty20...

Hampshire hung on for a draw in the end. It looked good for a win at 140-1 and maybe even at 180-3 but then quick wickets meant they had too hang on for a draw which isnt too bad again Kent who have a reasonable lead at the top now. I am still a little concerned about relegation because so many teams are seprerated by just a few points but they do have i think a 27 point lead over surrey now with them coming up next that is a huge game but for now they can look forward too the c and g semi on saturday
