I don't know, what with the 20/20 cricket and vast amounts of OD cricket played across all comps, a team could see him as a short term fix while the main player is away, just like we used him as at Kent last season.

And he would probley be near the top of a few lists after a good summer in Australia.
If he's learnt some sense (doesn't actually seem to be OOTQ) I could see him repeating his success of 2001.
It'd be nice, seeing as he's wasted his ability for the last 3 years.

England will be playing Australia in about 10 ODI's this summer.
Yeah - I knew that! Was referring to if Eng were playing Aus there. :D
Australia will probley be playing Hants they seem to play pretty much every county on an Ashes tour.

And England will be playing a warm up OD (50 Overs) game against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl, Rich will be there
Interesting one, that - wonder what Messrs Hingston and Pickup are doing that day. Got the date to hand, Mr. Tywman?

Kolpak players are just not right for the English game.... do other countries have it?

they would be Anglo-Aussies in the Hollioake/Mullaley/White etc mould :p
Really, they're both listed as Australians.
I mean, it wouldn't be unlike CricInfo to get something like that wrong, but I'd always thought they were more akin to the Harrity\Mohammad Ali\Spearman type.

Are other countries subject to EU law? 8-)
EU law's nothing to do with the Kolpak agreement, is it? I thought that was international.
As far as I was aware, EU\British-passport-holders were the problem caused by the EU law (and it seems that has been altered to help cricket in some way).

The Kolpak ruling is an EU law in additional to the obvious freedom of movement legislation.

It derived from a Slovenian handball player who wanted to play in Germany...
