More importantly, Harmison 6-52 including Loye, Hodge, Flintoff and Hegg (plus Anderson and Muralitharan).

I think we might just be back in rhythm!

Hodge eager to face Harmison

Brad Hodge is hoping to use Lancashire’s crunch Frizzell County Championship Division Two match against Durham this week to gain inside information on England spearhead Stephen Harmison ahead of the Ashes conflict later this summer.

Hodge has only just landed in county cricket having had his arrival as Lancashire’s new overseas player delayed by his recovery from a hernia operation and is relishing the chance to get an early sighting on England’s number one fast bowler at Old Trafford this week.

The Australian batsman already has uncomfortable memories of facing Harmison in the nets during a brief stint as an overseas replacement for Durham in 2002, but he is aware that any experience of facing him in the middle for Lancashire this week could be invaluable if he breaks into the tourists’ Ashes line-up later in the summer.

“It’s an important game for me because I’m going to be facing Harmison,” stressed Hodge, who impressed the Lancashire dressing room with a superb innings of 65 on his debut in the innings victory over Derbyshire this week.

Harmison will lead England's pace attack this summer “I want to have a look at him before the Ashes. I’ve only faced Harmison a couple of times in the nets when I played a couple of games for Durham and I can tell you it wasn’t much fun facing him in the nets.

“I don’t suppose it will be that much fun facing him in the middle, either, but it’s got to help me if I face him before the Ashes starts - unless he gets me out cheaply that is.”

Hodge, who is yet to play a Test for Australia, was something of a surprise pick for their Ashes squad at the age of 30 and admits his experience against Harmison at Old Trafford over the next few days is unlikely to unearth any new information on England’s spearhead.

“I very much doubt I’ll be able to help with any new information on him - Australia have got people getting paid money to find out about the England players in general and that’s not what I’m paid for,” he said.

“There’s plenty of knowledge around anyway. By the time the Ashes series starts there will be plenty of footage of all the players.

“The technology these days is second to none so there won’t be a hell of a lot that I can find out that they won’t know already.”

And all bar Lewis homegrown.

Yep, Plunkett has only just turned 20 and Davies is 24. The two young batters and the wicket-keeper will hopefully come on a bit in the near future. I reckon there will be regularly 2/3 Durham players in the England Test and ODI team before too long.

Scott Newman just made a double century for Surrey against Glamorgan - while Mark Ramprakash is bowled three short of a ton.

Newman was in the A squad in Sri Lanka, wasn't he? Talented?
