A nice partnership between super all-rounder and ex-Culture Club percussionist Jon Moss, and Pakistani legend Hassan Adnan has kept Derbyshire in the hunt for promotion from Totesport 2 moving up to fourth place. It also means promotion for Sussex Sharks tonight.

Derbyshire win. Yes, we have won again. All is well this balmy night.

Very true he is the only member of the Australian side i dislike
I'm not too keen on Justin "the Imp" Langer. He has evil eyes. Plus his column on the BBC has become more and more laughable as the tour went on. "I have a feeling we will turn it around" every day of each match. Stuck record.....

It may have been Carter, I was miles away so I couldn't quite tell.

Wood's average is probably inflated a little by him playing at Taunton, that's true - but fluid strokeplay is fluid strokeplay wherever it's played. He's not likely to play for England any time soon - he's just quite a good player who doesn't get recognition.

Either way, I'll shut up about him!

Well superkingdave brought it back up again........

I'll shut up about him starting from now. Providing no-one else brings him up.

And now for a more interesting subject - I hate Matt Hayden too. I also hated Brett Lee before this summer (I thought he had far too great a tendency to bowl beamers to be considered a decent fella), but now having seen that he is not only a very good bowler, but a superb competitor, with both bat and ball, I am growing to like the man more and more. He seems to play the game with a smile on his face these days, which is great to see.

And Langer's BBC column is indeed a joke. All it says is "This has been a tough series, but we're still going to win, I love Warnie and I want his babies" every week.

Another anti-Hayden vote, although I sometimes find the chaps one may dislike the most turn out to be decent fellows, like Heseltine or Portillo. I even like McGrath now, crumbs I must be getting old.

Same here about Bret Lee he has really impressed me this year. I dont really care either way about Kaspa or Tait. Gilchrist is one of my favourite players and Warne is just the greatest and of course hampshire captain, katich and clarke also have hampshire connections. Although hayden has played for hampshire in the past it was to long ago for me to think of him as a hampshire player

I hate Gilchrist as well as Hayden, actually. He comes across as a right arrogant b'stard, regardless of whether that's the case or not. And I think it's a good job there might be rain at the Oval, 'cause I couldn't take a full two more innings of his voice through the stump mike.

Good result for Durham as well, one win from the last 3 games should be enough to get promoted.

As I've said before, his bowling is rubbish, he has far too games where he gets 3-0-24-0 type figures in limited overs cricket and he's just a part-time bowler in 3+ day cricket. He should either put some real work into his bowling or just focus on being a batsman. And as a batsman alone he's not good enough to play for any good cricketing countries, but I guess he could get into India's ODI side easily enough.

Because England don't have any all-rounders called Flintoff do they? (!)
yes we do, but look at England's ODI in particular now

Harmison

he could well & fit in to that ? vacancy since Gough is not likely to play for ENG again & even though Blackwell has been murdering county attacks he is unlikely to be picked again aslo because he didn't produce those kind of performaces (except for his debut) at the INTL level consistently....

While i dont see him getting into the Australia ODI side at allllll over the likes of Watson,Hopes or White

The '? vacancy' should be below Giles. England are short of a decent, reliable pace bowler who will usually get through their 10 and can chip in with the bat occasionally.
