Same for me. Hales and Willey to open, Vince at 3. Won't happen though obviously.
Yeah I like this a lot! Would definitely like to see Willey in the T20 side, good batting average/SR and a fairly decent economy rate when bowling. Ian Bell shouldn't bat 3 in T20's, well he shouldn't even really be in the side.

Well I think we'd all like it, but let's wait until he's bowling again.

Bell clearly should be nowhere near.

Sun comes out and some runs on offer.

Concur with Grecian than Willey needs to be bowling again before he is considered. Definitely a good option in t20 and possibly 50 over and down the line test cricket.

Panesar doing his bit for every other spinner in the country by being left out by essex for disciplinary reasons. Takes some work to outdo Jesse Ryder in the indiscipline ranks but Monty has done it.

Essex especially are gonna be doubly annoyed as they've been preparing wickets that take turn due to all the injuries to the seamers.

Oh really, that is so irritating. As much as I loved the Moeen idea I had resigned myself to the fact that Monty was the only real option.

I really don't understand why the selectors seem unable to see Tom Smith - anyone would think he was playing for Leicestershire rather than Lanky

So Monty has nailed his own coffin on his international career then by the looks. God knows who we pick now.

I see Cook says Buttler not ready for test cricket so with Prior injured it looks like Bairstow for the first series unless we do the sensible thing and pick Foster.

Tom Smith not good enough with bat or ball IMO.

Little gem from Teeq there to put us in a decent position. Need Cobb early though, he plunders at home normally.

Good win. Still have concerns over our batting + death bowling.

Runs galore today. Big hundreds for Ali, Borthwick.

Lees and Lyth both tonning up for the Yorkies.

Samit also 101*. Wonder if they'd consider a Samit/Ali duo as spinners.. Patel's form has been superb this year. 607* runs @ 60 with 2 tons and 4 fifties. 7 wickets at 40 is reasonable as well if you are picking him as a bat. Leading run scorer in D1.

Cook Robson Ali Bell Patel Ballance Buttler Stokes Broad Anderson Finn

Not sure I'd actually be in favour of that team, but its an option. Doubt they'd ever pick him though.

Not a bad day considering we got put in. Moaned about him no end last year but Wheater has been really good this season, like him playing as a specialist bat though.

I'm more pro nightwatchmen than most on the forum but Durham's use of Wood yesterday is pretty stupid imo. 411-4 and playing an extra batsman so Mustard is at 8 and yet use a nightwatchman.

Yorkshire still got a long way to go if they want to break my record opening partnership on international cricket captain. Still they're going well.

Poor old Northants :( Hope they can get a draw out of this at least.

So Borthers Borthwick zoning in on a double ton, Samit and Moeen getting 'daddy' tons. At least a few bats are firing. Undoubtedly Root will get the nod (in his defence if he was playing CC he could well be plundering as well) but at least the selectors have a headache of sorts.

Bloody Manchester.

Broad get's Prior good news for England all-round there. Broad should be nicely tuned up for the first Test, and they can't consider the risky move of Prior without a lot of runs.

Safe to assume Brown and Hales won't be on one another's Christmas card lists then

That's awful cheating from Brown. I get sometimes you don't always know but he scooped it back up.

Another pitiful batting performance at the Oval - from 162-2 we just scraped one batting point - Amla can't come back soon enough.

Yorkshire have beaten Northants as expected.
