Poor old Essex. They've got through so many seamers this season. Out injured are Napier, Masters, Topley and Mills, so they recruit some Lancastrian who also gets injured so we're left with a seam attack of Matt Salisbury (who?, 3 First Class University games before this season), Thomas Moore (who?, zero first class games) and Tanveer Sikander (who, 1 first class game before this season).

Sighhhhh.

Geriant Jones over at Gloucestershire I see, channelling his inner Jonathan Batty, while Will Gidman continues to be h4x at 110km/h. Legend. How can you not love him?

Batty taking 8 is pretty lol. Pitch inspectors are probably very ready to descend on Chelmsford to earn themselves a nice payday.

Jim Allenby is still OP; needs to get an ODI gig this summer IMO -- England can't do any worse, and he's more cult hero-y than Ravi IMO

Stokes back is good for England. Poor man's Allenby in white ball cricket, but such a talent with the red. Keen to see him back. Shame about Wood though; can't wait to see how good he is when he can string two games together.

The strongest Yorkshire XI is so, so good on paper. Putting a guy like Karl Brown up against the fractionally-less-good XI they have this week is just unfair. Poor Lancashire.

Don't forget Jesse! They could probably open the bowling with him tbh.

You guys make Gidman's bowling sound like the English version of Andy Ellis (minus the bent arm) or even Kieran Noema-Barnett.

Professional trolling.

Going to be a season of mid table mediocrity this year. Just not consistent enough with either bat or ball I don't think. Actually think this squad has one more season before we need to start breaking some of it up. Hopefully people like Hain can develop to give us options.

Looks as if Leicester have got out of jail there, unless they can get back on. Glamorgan did have 21 overs at the 9th wicket pair though.

Sky picked the wrong game, and not for the last time this season I'm sure.

Durham making a bit of a pickle of what should have been a fairly straightforward chase against Lancs. 32 wanted off 3.3 overs with two new batsmen in.

Is it just me that gets really annoyed when someone like Brown (no offence Karl) get's named the "Masterblaster".

Yeah it probably is, carry on.

^he's one of our better T20 bats tbh, but masterblaster isn't the term that comes to mind for him no.

Flintoff comeback official, maybe for the Yorkshire game next week, apparently he is bowling as well - even at half pace he would improve our death bowling.

Pretty excited to see Fred's return TBH. Even if he's a shadow of his former self it'll still be awesome. Love watching the legends playing T20. Be interesting to see what pace he operates at!
