***Official*** English Domestic Season 2009

International Captain
Scotty Newman gone to Notts on loan. Good coup for Notts.
Yeah, rather confirms the suspicion that he's not happy at the Oval. Being passed over for the stand-in captaincy by Brown, Afzaal and now Walters won't have helped. Going to hook up with his old mucker Ali Brown.

Expect to see us stuffed today on Sky at Old Trafford; quite an inexperienced outfit being played there. Makes sense to use this competition to try out some fringe players. I'm just wondering when Arun Harinath, who's been on the staff four years now, is ever to play a first-team game.

Northants warm up for the Aussies with a three day win over Gloucs, the whole match occupying just 160 overs. Lucas had a blinder with 12 cheap wickets; faintly depressing to see Richard Dawson still playing first-class cricket though.

Haha, yeah, just checked the Notts card, that's one lopsided effort. Adams is a bit good to be going in at 10 though. I'll be interested to see how Sidebottom goes here.

Needs some big runs from the remaining overs to get a competetive score, plenty of wickets in hand though. Nice to see Smith and Horts in the runs again

All looking very easy for Lancs. 124/1 off 23.4 as I type. Linley looks bit of a pie thrower, tbh. Should get more bounce with his height than he does and seems v straight up and down.

Bit of a choke here for Surrey - will be ridiculous if they finish short with all those wickets in hand.

Trouble with only playing four batsmen though.

8-) What a shambles, bowled out by a bloke who could hardly walk by the end.

I know there's nothing at stake in this competition this season, but there needs to be a dressing room inquest after that.

Shame with tonight's result, was kind of hoping for P8 W0 L0 T0 NR8 for our final standings. Would be apt after the way the last couple of Pro40 seasons have gone for us.

Looking at the CC games going on at the moment, thought I'd take a look at the number of players in each side that look like they may have a chance of playing for England in the future

Derbyshire vs Middlesex
Derbyshire - Redfern probably the only one.
Middlesex - Shah, Morgan, Malan, Finn.

Hampshire vs Warwickshire
Hampshire - Dawson, Mascarenhas, Tremlett
Warwickshire - Bell, Trott, Ambrose, Woakes, maybe Rankin

Leicestershire vs Essex
Leicestershire - Cobb, Taylor
Essex - Foster, Napier

Worcestershire vs Somerset
Worcs - Moore, Ali, Davies
Somerset - Keiswetter, Hildreth

Yorkshire vs Notts
Yorkshire - Bairstow?, Bresnan, Rashid
Notts - Patel, Fletcher, Sidebottom, Read?

Really don't think there are many outside these that have much chance of ever playing for England (in the future)

Might do an update on how many young players have appeared in the CC this year later, have absolutely **** all to do at work

Would say Tim Murtagh has a remote chance. I also think Jim Allenby is a possibility, not sure about his eligibility though:unsure:

S Chanderpaul

U19 Vice-Captain
Carberry could have a decent chance if he keeps going aswell as he has this season.

Was gonna say Shafayat, but he's 25 already and doesnt seem to of improved in the slightest.
