Ian Blackwell has figures of 4 wickets for 7 runs.

Somerset getting exposed outside their Taunton concrete comfort zone. What does Hildreth average outside the road counties?

..... and ends up 5 for 7 - don't suppose the wicket was prepared for him either - wonder what he might have said to Langer between innings?

Yes, Ian has been a big miss for us this year and he's been massive:unsure: in Durham's retention of their title. Still there's always Omari Banks8-)

Kyle Coetzer currently going on 18 off 88 balls with a strike rate that's in danger of dropping below 20.

The Scottish have a unique tactic in LO cricket. Bat 50 overs playing exclusively defensive strokes and hope to **** your bowlers do a superhuman job.

Anyway, Ian Blackwell- WTF?

Sri Lanka spinner Herath has joined Surrey for the rest of the season, all of three weeks. The wickets are dog now, so he should enjoy himself.

Well it was about this time last year that Shoaib Akhtar was signed; hopefully this bowler will make more of an impression. Three CC matches remaining, but even if Surrey win all three promotion is unlikely, so I can't see the point really. Would be different if we were 7th in Division 1.

I personally would suggest you play the 10 year old who has taken about fifty wickets in age group cricket this year, making him a rather infinitely better prospect than any other bowler Surrey have produced in the last decade.

Yeah, it's a really odd signing from Surrey. Unless they're hoping he'll be back next summer, what's the point? Surely better to expose a youngster.

What strip are Lancashire playing on?

Didn't look like there was another one prepared yesterday and I can't believe if they are playing on the same surface it has improved much.

Decent start by Surrey, but as they made 420+ in the first innings of their last two games, and lost both, it's too early to count any chickens.

Incidentally there seems to be a feeling among supporters (that I've spoken to) that Batty should stay next year and play as a specialist opener. There's something to be said for it. Frost hasn't done too badly at Warwickshire.

Just noticed Herath isn't playing in this one.

Same strip and the umpires declared the ground fit at 9.15am.

Cricinfo only have Surrey playing with 9 men...

BBC has Herath in the party of 12.

Chanderpaul scoring a ton whilst the rest of the batting struggles, must feel familiar for him:)
