***Official*** English Domestic Season 2009

Manee

Cricketer Of The Year
Meaker's bowling quick this evening. Average speed 89mph, fastest over 92mph.
His record is pretty poor but no one can deny his pace. He has been on SkySports a few times and has started off with an average speed of just under 90mph, each time. He doesn't move the ball much and drifts a fair few well down the leg side but certainly rushes County batsmen

Be in Surrey's best interest if they gave him the new ball. Does bowl gun barrel at the moment though, as does Chris Jordan. Who seems to not be living up to his early hype.

Seems to a trait with Surrey players, not living up to the hype.

Worcs might have declared too late, Notts reduced to 170-5 chasing 358 but only a couple of hours to go. Hasn't stopped Ali Brown going at a run a ball though.

Ramprakash has recovered to play in today's game. Surrey just lost their first wicket at 171 - Batty's made his first 50 of the season but too late to prolong his Surrey career it would seem.

Big score for Hants, Tahir with a lifetime best of 77 not out, just got to hope the pitch is really going to turn but fully expect Somerset to easily match our score.

Zaremba's bunch playing Scaly's on Sky this afternoon. Both teams (and umpires) attired in dark blue which makes a nonsense of coloured kits IMO. Both Sussex openers playing plenty of shots, rain about though.

129/2 after 20. Joyce 43*(56), Goodwin 28*(18). Should be looking for 280, 8 an over gets 289.

Jon Batty out for 96 at Canterbury. Mid-day start there, still not sure whether that was weather-related or done to get a few spectators in after tea. Usually you can walk in without paying after about 4.30 anyway.

First time I've seen Borthwick bowling, he's overpitched a few but his line has been good and he seems to give it a fair rip.

Funny run out that. Yardy was still gone by yards despite Durham throwing the ball to the wrong end. Dwayne Smith time...

Notts 324-7, needing 34 but only about three overs to go. If they finish just short they might remember that Brown and Read, when well set made 16 off 10 overs at one stage.

Taylor scoring runs again.

944@67 so far this year.

Needs to move to a better county imo.
Don't like watching him bat but you can't argue with his performances, especially when his facing an international leggie and far more esteemed batsman like Human are failing.

Get him on the A tour with Northeast.

Dwayne Smith is surprisingly consistent for Sussex and always seems to score when the Sky cameras are there. When he played for the Windies, he only reached double figures once every five games. Think he likes being a big fish in a small pond.
