Glamorgan have signed Herschelle Gibbs for their 20/20 campaign. Gibbs will replace Jason Gillespie and it will be the 34 year olds first taste of county cricket.

Ryan Harris has blown Sussex out after signing for Queensland according to the BBC.
He must harbour some hope of representing Aus for his two year deal with Sussex would have comfortably paid more.

Although, I don't understand why Queensland were not willing to sign Harris as an overseas player - Sean Ervine plays for Western Australia on similarly deal doesn't he?

Altogether, not a lot to cheer from an England perspective.

Vaughan 2 runs from 2 innings against a university side.
Strauss out for diddly-squat.
Jones injured again.
Flintoff briefly shines, then falls to spin.

Ironically, it's the outsiders - Owais Shah and Ramps who have done best so far!
Vaughan is also apparently not in Yorkshire's team for their one day game today against Durham. Which is pretty surprising considering Goughy's out and despite Vaughan's one day career being poor, I still fancy him over the likes of Andrew Gale. Would have been pretty good seeing him up against Harmy as well.

Would be the first recorded incident of a slight nick to 4th slip tbh.

I dunno, but I suppose he must if he's registered as "local" over here.

Can anyone explain to me why Surrey received 11 points while Lanchashire got only 6?
4 points for the draw to both
After 130 overs in the first innings, Surrey were around 450 for 5 (5 batting points to Surrey for scoring more than 400 runs, 1 bowling point to Lancashire for taking 3-5 wickets)
After Lancashire's first innings, they were 241 for 6 (1 batting point to Lancashire for scoring 200-250 runs, 2 bowling points to Surrey for taking 6-8 wickets)

Total 11 points to Surrey, 6 points to Lancashire.

Wow. Spectacular misjudgement from Di Venuto in the Durham/Yorks game on Sky now. Tried to leave one from Bresnan that came back in & hit middle & off! Good nut from Bresnan; 85mph, full and swung late into the left-hander.

Mustard dismissed in the Mustard idiom, tries to pull a ball that wasn't short enough from Kruis & holes out to mid on. He'd looked in good nick until then tho, to be fair.

Great ball from this Shahzad kid to dismiss Koetzer, pitched outside off and came back in to hit middle and leg. Seamed miles. First time I've seen him bowl, looks to have something about him. Hits the seam and seems to get good bounce.

Yorkshire in dire straits against Durham, 50-4 off 17.2 chasing 221. Harmison striking first ball and bowling a couple of wides as well in his first over.

Anyone watching it?

I am. Promising to see Harmison get up to 87mph in the last ball of his over. He has massive rhythm issues though; in his third ball, the side on view showed absolutely no momentum. I guess that the coordination of the limbs is tougher for tall people.

Plunkett bowling well, his action is 'straight lines' personified. Every ball is in the right sort of area as a result. It would seem that he has reduced the intensity of his action for accuracy and I feel that (in his case) it is a good move.
