For the life of me I cannot understand why Kent's batsmen are always so dismal in the first game of the season when other teams manage to rack up decent scores. It's not even as if Shreck and Pattinson are that good.

Yeah, Shreck's a decent bowler, but he's not international standard. Pattinson is just a journeyman who had never taken a FC 5-wicket haul before this game. With the quality and depth in batting lineup that we have, there's no way we should be skittled for 162 and then be struggling on 63/3 when we allowed the opposition to recover from 219/7 to 434/9dec.Shreck's got better figures than Sidebottom every year tbh

Fine effort from VJ and Mahmood today after another woeful batting performance from the rest, but unless it rains all day tomorrow (looks a possibility) it's going to be a heavy defeat for Kent.
