*Official* English Domestic Season (2004)

Marc - Gough is not actually that bad a batsman. I think he has made 2 first-class centuries, which is more than Simon Jones, Anderson, Hoggard and Harmison put together will ever make...

when will we see the innings of Bell end :D
Good point....I reckon Bell has the stamina to just keep going on forever. I'm sure he'd never tire and could play shots in all sorts of positions...

I'll get my coat...

He's a Test 10, 9 at a push, as was Caddick.

Neither of them would be batting at 8 if I had anything to do with it.

What does it say about how great it is to toss it up when you go for that many runs?
So Chris for once praises something Warwickshire, then his usall stuff, and then you disagree with him.

Is there no winning?

Marc you are a complete Simpleton listen to Benaud,Jenner and Warne and they go with the Flight the ball up instead of bowling it Flatter

Keedy? NEVER Batty is better

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all three of those men wristspinners?

Ah, the Worcester connection.

That was not praising Warwickshire though, he was trying to show that based on one innings (on a helpful pitch, as evidenced by the likes of Mark Wagh picking up wickets) "Leg Spin" is on the way back.

No Chris, I am not a complete Simpleton, but that is an original insult, I'll give you that.

Flighting the ball does not always work, and hence it is not always the best thing to do.

English conditions are not always condusive to spin bowlers, so flighting it up is only going to end up with figures like 1-100+ from 20-odd overs (and that one is more often than not from a false shot caught on the boundary)

And as for Batty better than Keedy - I assume you mean with the bat which is obviously so, but that doesn't change that fact that Batty has been found seriously wanting when put alongside Ashley Giles.

As for the Keedy/Batty/Giles situation...

Giles is undoubtedly the established spinner in the England side, and he is bowling extremely well ATM. No dropping him in a hurry.

However, I also rate Keedy highly. He's been pushing on the door for a while now, I've seen him a few times, he's looked good every time.

I also saw Tredwell for Kent against Hampshire recently, he looked promising. He flighted it a bit, and genuinely spun it. But I've only seen him once, so can't really make a judgement.

Batty, well, what can you say? He's very very poor.

Of course, James Middlebrook isn't bad...;)

Just because 3 good spinners did it doesn't mean it is always right though.

Although to be fair, flighting it is better than flat, but not always. There are times when the spinner needs to bowl tight - even Warne does it occasionally.

No point in praising someone if its unfounded just to make you look better... Tis a bit shallow really..

A draw looks on for the Bears, thus strengthening our hold on the leadership :)
Incidently when was the last time Warwickshire tasted glory?

I still find it funny Surrey face relegation. Probably about as funny as I find Real Madrid having to qualify for the CL, and Milan losing to Deportivo in the CL Quarter Final after being 4-1 up after the first leg.
