*Official* England Tour of West Indies 2019

It looks a really strong attack though, 4 genuinely good bowlers.
I agree, but it's not like they've been bowling worldies for every dismissal and they've been unplayable, they've bowled well but we've shown a distinct lack of application.

Holder brings amazing balance to this WI attack. They'd challenge every team in the world in these conditions if they played like this, TBH.
cant wait for our series there tbh. i thought it would be a boring cakewalk but this bowling attack + these pitches + our own pacers. mmm good series.

If there's any to win it.

That's an exclamation point from John Campbell.

Haven't had a 10 wicket win in a long, long time.

Congrats

Selection needs to be looked at with the conditions in mind. Curran has played both tests and literally done nothing, with Leach also on the sidelines. Feel that Stone injured was quite a big blow

Has been a wonderful performance from the West Indies. In the last 10-15 years this is just (IIRC) their third series win. One of them was against a very bad New Zealand team, the other they got a bit lucky by scraping their way to two draws on roads after causing a collapse in the first Test. Here they've completely outplayed a lineup that's coming off a 3-0 win away from home, even if England have played terrible.

Showed the way to bat in conditions like these and have bowled brilliantly. They've earned this.

When were they scoring consistently? Our batting was pretty dodgy when he took over. Bairstow had that fantastic year but you can hardly say that was his level and then Bayliss has somehow destroyed him.
2016, which should have been the making of these young players, but every year since then they've regressed and gotten worse. In that year we had 5 batsmen average at least 40 and 4 of them broke 1000 runs. In 2017 we had 3 players average 40+ and in 2018 just Root and Buttler (min 500 runs), nobody managed 1k runs in these years with Root just missing out both years.

Wont call this a wi revival but it certainly was a huge and welcomed surprise. I'll believe wi are headed in the right direction if they can win ONE test (not even a series) vs one of India, RSA or Australia. Our batting is still quite frail but having bravo back should help immensely. Oh and for flintoff, boycott and all the other condescending English fans ...take that!!!

west indies v sri lanka in sri lanka would be a very interesting series once mathews and their first string bowlers are fit again

WI have played brilliant cricket this series, amazing.

First time I've stayed up so late to watch Test cricket in WI since that Lara innings in '99, well done Holder and co.

Windies have won every session of every day for 2 tests in a row. Been a long long long time since I've seen this happen.

Wi would still get stomped imo. Dont ask me why but wi just dont do well in SL or away in general for that matter.

Firstly before I get onto England and their frailties, West Indies were fantastic. The bowlers seemed more threatening than our much celebrated attack, in both Tests, how much of that is down to the differing batting attitudes and application is open to debate.

Even their off-spinner had a major return in Barbados with an 8-for, so they really all played their part and it was a wonderful effort from the bowling unit. As for their batting they adapted and showed how to get a match winning total on a pitch that we made look impossible to bat on.

I thought we bowled pretty well overall in the first innings here, but every time a side bowls well against us we’re shot for a sub 150 score. WI showed you can actually play against a team that bowls well and still make a decent total. We have so much to learn, and if these players can’t learn we need to have as serious look at selecting different types of Test cricketers. The selectors have much work to do, because the performances in this series just won’t do.

A great day for the West Indies and a great day for cricket.

Seems this is what happens when England's lower order don't bail them out every innings.

Heh, where are those cw members who laughed at me when I suggested around 1 year ago that Holder is a better allrounder than Stokes?

Superb from the west indies. Their attack has looked world class all series. If Bravo gets back to his best, they could be a genuinely excellent team capable of winning such series more often.

If Alzarri is not available for the next match, Windies can surely rope in Keemo Paul. With him, there's a longer wagging of the tail.

I'm sure they will stick with the same XI, or Oshane might get a debut at the expense of Gabriel or Roach.

We'll see
