Just imagine if these two put on 100. Would be the most England thing ever. Well actually what we have just seen is the most England thing ever.

He can certainly take his share of the blame for the attitude that contributes to this sort of performance but none of that changes the basic problem of not having any good batsmen. Blaming the coach just seems very football to me.
But we have some batsmen that have proven that they are good and can succeed at this level and they're not anymore, that's the point.

It is not really true though. Bairstow has never really scored consistent run in the top 5, same with Stokes etc etc. They are playing in roles that don't really suit them because they don't have anybody else.

England's strategy to the swinging ball seems to be jumping across the stumps and trying to work it to midwicket while still on the move. Hard to believe it's not working.

They've stopped being able to score consistently even when they've played in roles that suit them though.

this england side feels like a much better version of the vettori era nz team sometimes. an op lower order doesn't always mean much if you only have one or two good batsmen in the top six.

Just got up and flicked this on as the last wicket fell.

Not really played in them very often of late and even if they had you can't just blame Bayliss.
They stopped scoring before we started ****ing about with the batting line up. That is on Bayliss, I can accept one or two losing form, but for them all to do so gradually over the same time period?

Give Windies some credit nah,my English fans.
On this ground last year, we downed BD for 43 all out.
Oh absolutely you've been class this series, been really impressed with your batting they all tried to dig in and make the most of it in every innings.

I'm not convinced the bowling has been that special though, both root dismissals (more so the first one) and burns in the first innings are the only ones that come to mind in this test where you can say far enough not much you can do there, the rest had been the same **** we've been seeing from our lads for years now where its lose soft dismissals giving it away.

When were they scoring consistently? Our batting was pretty dodgy when he took over. Bairstow had that fantastic year but you can hardly say that was his level and then Bayliss has somehow destroyed him.

It looks a really strong attack though, 4 genuinely good bowlers.

Holder brings amazing balance to this WI attack. They'd challenge every team in the world in these conditions if they played like this, TBH.
