*Official* England in West Indies

Got to feel for the England fans who have travelled over to the Windies, after already been messed about in India.

It's hardly surprising though, is it? You don't have to be a turf technician to know that preparing a cricket pitch with 2 days' notice is hardly realistic. It takes weeks to do with good effect.
But the Chennai groundsman did a good job of preparing a good track for the England match recently with few days time.

He did. Michael Holding seems to think that preparing a pitch in the Caribbean is somewhat different to preparing one in India.

Added to the fact that the Chepauk is still a cricket stadium, it just wasn't expecting to have a Test at that time. The ARG isn't any more. It's now a football stadium.

Aye, paying 100's of pound, then finding out you need to re-schedule and head to another part of India.
At least the only types you could blame for that is terrorists, who obviously are also to blame for many far worse things than the rescheduling of a couple of Tests. This is incompetence of those who are supposed to be putting the game on for you. Completely different. I imagine most would've understood completely the situation in India.

Won't be a problem for Sky Sports, the worry is for the local broadcasters. Sky are hi-tech, have plenty of channels, can easily accommodate a change of schedule, and have plenty of people to move their equipment.

WI broadcasters inevitably are less well-off though.
Seriously, though, when has anyone cared about TV coverage in the Caribbean?
The only channel that seems to be interested in carrying the cricket is a minor cable channel from Jamaica....

I still believe the real problem is how long it will take Sky to set up.

For a 50/50 OD game in county cricket, Sky usually start setting up 2days before the game.

From Cricinfo,

Rain stops play Oh dear, that's unfortunate. The shower is sweeping in, and we have a delay. Hopefully it is only a brief interlude. Gnasher, our man on the ground, claims he can see a kid building a sand-castle at fine leg. That's not a kid, it's Ian Bell, who's suddenly got a lot of time on his hands on this trip

Sky take pictures from the host broadcaster, UIMM.

I'm very surprised if there's really no Caribbean channels that want cricket though. Amazed.
