Hate to sound like a technophobe, but that Hawkeye ball path is mad to me, no way that is smashing leg like that, it hit him just inside leg stump and he was miles forward. Weird.

Would Broad and Anderson be taking wickets? Genuine question.
This ia turning into such a great tour for them to miss. You imagine Anderson would probably have bowled about 30 overs for 30 odd runs but unlikely they would be taking a bunch of wickets.

Yeah, I think Branderson should have gone, but there's no way anyone is running through sides on these pitches, they're just too ****ing slow, even when there's movement, even half-decent bats can see it coming, or it doesn't carry.

Still think they'd maybe have made in-roads with the new ball last Test when there was a bit in the wicket, but that's about the only time they may have made a difference. Oh and yes both of them are better opening bowlers than Chris Woakes, Overton or Fisher so intrinsically there's a slightly better chance of a wicket, but again just slightly.

Reckon there would have been some more serious talk about needing to move on from them to win away etc. As it is I would be amazed if they are both not back at the start our summer.

So I admire the guts and determination it took to bat for so long, but I can't help but feel we were unecessarily negative. Just 30-50 more runs would have made it almost impossible for England to set a target.

I really miss proper West Indian batsmanship.

Honestly, at this point we have to take what ever morsels we can get. At least they got the lead to under 100.

Third longest innings by a West Indian. Also the third ever to have been longer than 700 minutes. The other two, of course, were Lara's two world record triples. I don't often want to bag the guy who scores a century but it was a total road where Leach bowled a record number of overs whilst going for under 1.7 runs per over. Yikes.

Haha, that's over a Hundred match worth of dead-batting. Honestly great.

Wonder what the record for most balls by a bowler to a batter is?

I love it. 500+ behind with no batting quality to speak of, opening partner out second ball. Home stadium full of England fans. Such a beautiful act of fun killing, cricketing catenaccio, fuelled by the delicious salty tears of neutrals. You want to see some shots? Too bad, it's a test match, the result actually matters.

They need pitches that will last five days to fleece the English tourists. An England tour funds the West Indies cricket board for the next four years.
