Agreed. You get incisive bowling spell after spell, seam or spin, and this English lineup is going to crumble every single time. People like Bell don't become mental superstars overnight (with due respect to him). Trott and Cook (and Prior to an extent) are the only ones you can rely on to be somewhat consistent.
EDIT: And to be honest, I think even Cook is going to be found out against SA.

Yeah agreed, really... in 2006/07 they were up against arguably the greatest collection of cricketers to ever set foot on a pitch. This england team is definitely stronger on paper than the 2006/07 one too imo

Yea, see edit. I've been saying this since the UAE defeats but England have never faced concertedly hostile bowling through their false dawn, never have had to scrap for games other than the draws they secured in SA and Cardiff. It's not an anomaly, as any reasonable observer of English cricket over the past two decades can vouch for. It's a recurring pattern only offset occasionally.

Indeed, he seems to have entirely forgotten that he is a problem, have backed him to get through it but it is the major concern.
There is of course a big difference between thinking that Bell and KP should stay in the side (which I do) and pretending that this winter has been anything other than shocking.
