Throw the ball to Mendis now

Nah we have some great 50-averaging bowlers, what's the need of a spinner whose 'mystery' has been unravelled seemingly?

Has anyone else thought of the Langer and Gilchrist (top order bat and aggressive keeper-batsman against SC team) partnership from '99?

5 bowlers dream is on imo
I think it's almost at the point where Bresnan probably isn't going to be a worse Test batsman than anyone else they could pick in the spot currently occupied by Patel anyway.

EDIT: CPL in fact actually thinks Bresnan is better than Patel on batting alone.

What a gem of a catch! Things remain interesting - big innings for Patel, I doubt he's up to it, I would be happy if he contributes 15 tbh.

Yeah Smali against Pakistan. What a game :)

Prior Out!

Bad luck as he middled it. These things happen i guess. Game on now. Patel needs to show us why he was picked.

Man, Trott just keeps proving me wrong. Great innings.

Did I just hear the commentator say Matt Prior had done his job? Good innings and slightly unlucky dismissal but I call bull**** on that. Getting to 40, putting England slightly ahead and then getting out to give Sri Lanka the ascendency is not his job.
