Tony Greig pointed out around 15 minutes ago that Rashid Latif has asked for Bell being suspended/banned.

He also pointed out that Latif had done some thing similar in his cricketing career like Bell.

Generally I havent liked the quality of discussions too much on this thread - Collingwood's comments, chucking and now a dismissal.

Wouldnt really be an Pak v England series without controversy, cheating, chucking, ball tampering, umpiring ;)

Marc , That is what I am suggesting that if it is not currently allowed then maybe it should be. They consult on runouts, boundaries so they should on close catches especially as there are trials to introduce line fault no-balling by 3rd umpire via use of technology.

Latif dropped a ball, it spilt out behind him, and then claimed it. The umpires were completely unsighted. He got 4 games, I think.

I'd say that of everyone on the ground Bell was worst placed of anyone to know it.

The catcher doesn't know for sure on the tight calls.
The only problem I have with it is when Tauful asked him did you catch it, Bell nodded yes, IMO he should''ve said not sure, a la Mark Taylor - Athers. Easy with hindsight and obviously he felt he caught it, but it would've been the gentlemanly thing to do. Taylor was a gent.

I am supporting England and do not intend to make any of our players look stupid but when Simon jones was interviewed at the Academy where he is being repaired, he did predict 3-0. I have to admit i wasn't far of his radar either.
Yes but he's a fiery Welsh loon and was probably drunk to to boot.

Yeah exactly.
They just had the highlights of yesterdays play on here, and showed Bells catch numerous times. It looked like he lost control of it for a second and the ball was definitely touching ground...looked not out to me.

Another one! The Poms are bloody cheats. The ball hit the ground before being "taken" low by Trescothick, and like Bell, he was more than happy to claim it. What is going on? Can't these guys play fair?

It's the nature of 2D TV, those slow-mo close-ups always look dodgy. Tres got fingers under the ball. Hoggy, time for a rest mate.
