Mate, can u just mention 1 or 2 threads where Pakistanis have ever started a flame bait or posted any ant-indian comment before an indian posting abusive things abou Pakistan ?There r hardly 3 or 4 Pakstani members on CW forum & none of them r flame baiters.U can neither blame me nor any other Pakistani member resposible for starting a flame bait. Its nehrafan,vandemataram,GO_India & sheerindianspeed who r always responsible for starting flame baits on CW forum.

If u think that any pakistani has eer started to bait indians, just mention the posts/threads.
We r neither taught to hate india nor we post any comments which may hurt the feeling indian members unless indians themselves start flame bait.
In my opinion responding to a troll/flaim batier with equally 'trollesque' comments also makes the poster a troll. Just learn to ignore them. All those posters you mentioned are irritating, but when one or two Pakistani posters respond insulting the Indian team, that's not exactly better behaviour isn't?

Hate to use a cliche, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Actually, Shoaib, there were more than a few during the INdia-Pak series time earlier this year who were basically trolls supporting Pakistan. It is juz that the Indian ones seem to have stuck around.

Coming back to the topic, I seriously think it won't be a bad idea to try out Afridi and Malik at the top of the order. I am not yet convinced about the other openers of Pakistan and at least this way, they have decent back up spin options if the track starts to turn. Will Razzaq play in the first test? Ideally, this line up won't be a bad one to take the field with....

Afridi
Malik
Younis Khan
Inzy
Yo Yo
Asim Kamal
Akmal
Shoaib
Shabbir
Naveed
Kaneria.

I think Naveed should be played. He could go for a lot of runs, but he could also pick up important wickets, esp. aggressive players like Flintoff and KP, who might go after him and get out, as he is deceptively good.

i got a slightly different lineup approach to urs... (remember afridi doesent like to open anymore in tests)

1) Salmaan Butt
2) Shoaib Malik
3) Younis Khan
4) Inzamam ul Huq
5) Mohammed Yousuf
6) Shahid Afridi
7) Kamran Akmal
8) Naveed - ul - Hassan
9) Mohammed Sami
10) Shoaib Akhtar
11) Danish Kaneira

in the 2nd /3rd tests Arshad Khan / Mushy will take place in the lineup too.

That line up looks good, but honestly, Asim Kamal is a class player and I think it will be very harsh to keep him out of the side.

I would go for that, but another possible option would be moving Asim Kamal up to open in place of Shoaib Malik and including Hasan Raza.

If Raza has to come in, it has to be in place of Afridi. I think Malik is a more dependable bat than AFridi and that is what you are looking for as an opener.

Actually, that'd be smarter than what I said. I'm a big fan of Raza though...and he certainly didn't disgrace himself when he was last selected.

The last time i saw Raza he loolked excellent againt Warney but when he faced the faster bowlers he was not sure what to play and what to leave....newayz its been 3 years i hope he has improved in that aspect of his game.

Oh, and for posterity, the Collingwood quote is, verbatim:

"We're looking at things to achieve and going to Pakistan and India we want to win these series. Whether we win them 2-1, 1-0 we're going to be happy to win the series but I certainly think our main goal in Pakistan will be to win 3-0."

How good is Cook, esp. against spin?
Former England coach Keith Fletcher said last year that he was "just the best young batsman I've ever seen". He's captained England U19s, and scored a double-hundred for Essex in that tour match against the Aussies last summer. He averaged about 48 last season in FC cricket, and is easily this country's best young opening batsman. He probably won't be thrown into the first Test straight away, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him play in the third one, where Strauss is missing.

Not sure exactly how good he is against spin, but he seemed to handle Stuart MacGill pretty well when he scored that double-hundred.

its quite risky calling a player who hasent got any caps yet. they shud have called some experienced player
It is risky, Bell is suppose to be a magic player (as is Cook) and he's not pulled up any trees yet (although this time next year he might be, at Kevin Dean's Christmas Tree Winter Retreat).

The experienced players are either injured or too fat though (or both).

Tips on how to get out once one has passed fifty? I think we have enough men capable enough of that already.

Yes I'm sure if ever anyone could spot an injured animal likely to fall over the first obstacle it would be Butcher.
