I agree...I don't understand much of the negativity surrounding Key. He looks no less capable to me than Bell or Butcher, and has already made some good scores in Test cricket while never actually having a long run in the side. It's not as if his technique is terrible either...he certainly deserves a go if Bell fails on the subcontinent.
Key has scored a double ton on a road against WI and not done much nothing else. He's weak outside off, he's weak against any part-time dobbers who bowl straight, he's unfit - which shows he doesn't have the right attitude or work ethic. Do England really want a mediocre version of Inzamam-ul-Haq in their team?

Some good batting playing for stumps then... hopefully Collingwood can outscore Bell tomorrow, sounded like Collingwood's bowling earlier was pretty good - I think he'll probably end up at no. 7 in the Tests and Anderson and Plunkett will share drinks waiter duties.

New ball has been seaming around like a cheap pair of trousers apparantly, in all innings so far.
Sounds like they're using Bradders trick of sending in the bowlers first to see off the troubles in the pitch/ball then.

only if there was another day of play, i rekon patron 11 wud have killed england.

the only problem pakistan lack is their openers. they r gonna most likely use salmaan butt and shoaib malik.

There is - it's scheduled as a 3-day game.

I'm sure on the basis of this that Pakistan will win the test series 3-0 and the one-day series 5-0, no problem.

If I remember correctly, he did work a great deal on his physical fitness...and "a weakness against any part-time dobbers"? That seems to be based around his one lbw dismissal to Damien Martyn. He's nowhere near as bad as you make out...and he's certainly done more than just one double ton on a flat track..the 93* to anchor the run-chase against WI, the 83 against SaF?

He was also out lbw to Steve Waugh and he's frequently lbw to the likes of Bell in County cricket. All Key's done so far is flog WI, he's been rubbish (average below 30) against every other country.

If that's the case then Bob Woolmer's got his hands full at the moment. I sure wouldn't like to coach a team that had that many problems.

from the comments around the camp i think the choice is Bell or Collingwood, and Anderson or Udal. Hopefully it'll be Bell, and then the other depends on the pitch.

Pak Patron's 11 are 140- 8 in reply to England's 256-9 decl.

I think Pak's national team batters will struggle in similar manner against England too.

Friddie, Anderson and Giles will be the key bowlers for England against Pakistan in the series.

My prediction,

Test: 3-0 to England

OD : 3-2 to Pakistan

You are very nice joker may be you should be become professinal one, did u check the scores end of the day at stumps?
3-0 england? DREAM ON

Taking the result of 1 warm up game (the first of the tour) on a pitch that will be NOTHING like the test pitches is no way to judge a series score on either way.
