Have you watched much cricket? Left handers leave balls on that line (or similar - nobody is denying it was a misjudgement) all the time.Beleg said:And I find it even more difficult to believe that a batsmen of Trescothick's class is going to leave a delivery pitching on/around 4th stump purely on line grounds.
Not really.wahindiawah said:Ian Blackwell is going to replace Giles for the OD series in Pak.Never really heard of him, wonder if he's a good prospect?
That's been one thing he has done consistently through his career to be honest.Beleg said:And I find it even more difficult to believe that a batsmen of Trescothick's class is going to leave a delivery pitching on/around 4th stump purely on line grounds.
Big fat hefter. Arjun would like him.wahindiawah said:Ian Blackwell is going to replace Giles for the OD series in Pak.Never really heard of him, wonder if he's a good prospect?
Yep, as explained in a later post.marc71178 said:I''m guessing you're talking about the fact hes nothing or nothing?
I know Blackwell's probably going to fail miserably, but are any other English fans mildly excited about the prospect of a Pietersen-Flintoff-Blackwell middle-order teaming up for the last 20 overs? I certainly am. Three players in one side capable of 50-ball centuries, that doesn't happen too often.aussie said:so Blackwell has been called up to replace Giles in the ODI series, thats good IMO since i have been impressed with him this season & hopefully with some good performaces he could hold down a permanent spot in the ODI side for a while.
Btw does anyone know if Strauss will be back for the ODI's or his his tour over?
I would like England's batsmen to wake up to the reality that if 280 is a winning score, the best way to achieve it is not to try and score 280 in 40 overs.Barney Rubble said:I know Blackwell's probably going to fail miserably, but are any other English fans mildly excited about the prospect of a Pietersen-Flintoff-Blackwell middle-order teaming up for the last 20 overs? Yes, but every time we get off to a good start (say we're 150-2 off 30 overs) we know we have the ability to score at anywhere up to about eight an over from thereon in - and a "final assault" from those three in the last 8-10 could yield any number of runs. I've seen Blackwell hit Mushtaq Ahmed for 6 four times in five balls, you couldn't help but be excited by that kind of power, even if they might be a little short of brains.greg said:I would like England's batsmen to wake up to the reality that if 280 is a winning score, the best way to achieve it is not to try and score 280 in 40 overs.
I would be capable of a 50 ball century if I played against a team of 8 year olds.
Just like thatBarney Rubble said:Yes, but every time we get off to a good start (say we're 150-2 off 30 overs) we know we have the ability to score at anywhere up to about eight an over from thereon in - and a "final assault" from those three in the last 8-10 could yield any number of runs. Actually make that 150-3 - we do have Vaughan in our top order.greg said:Just like that

Bit of an exaggeration, there.open365 said:very excited.
it will probably only fire alltogeether on one accasion out of 20,but if that one occasion can happen before the selectors drop Blackwell then we're in for quite an innings.
Blackwell is a fantastic one-day batsman at FC level with a strike of over 140 who can take the attack to most bowlers.
he's been tried at ODI level before but not realy made an impact.
Around 6ft 3.wahindiawah said:Does anyone knows how tall the new Pak pacer, Mohd Asif is??
If he's the guy from the warm up games then i think from the brief clips i saw that there might be yet another bowler having his action questioned. But they were only brief clips so I may have been imagining things that weren't there.Muddaser said:Around 6ft 3.
He is very skinny and has a very fast arm action.
A fast medium bowler at best who swings it both ways.
He has played a test before and his action looked to be completely legalgreg said:If he's the guy from the warm up games then i think from the brief clips i saw that there might be yet another bowler having his action questioned. Not sure about Blackwell, but Afridi is establishing himself as a test allrounder, his performance in test matche lately have been great.JUst look at his performance in the last test match and you can see how this guy can take matches away from opponentsScaly piscine said:Blackwell should really have been a baseball player I think, along with the twinkle toed cheat.
