So by the same token, England win the Ashes and now come out with a dissapointing performance in their very next series. No difference between the two sides then right?
That would be a good point (if Pakistan had won the 5 series prior to this one)

Pakistan did well against India in India. They had a draw against WI (Inzi was missing in the match they lost). And now they are giving a VERY good England side a tough series. Come on, let's give them a little credit as opposed to saying they'll probably lose the next series 3-0.
Yes, but the same token England won 7 out of 8 vs WI, as well as winning in SA, whitewashing NZ and outplaying Australia...

It was an error in judgement not only because of the line of the ball, but because of the length. If the ball had not swung in, It would have gone through the fifth or sixth stump, and possibly further.
Surely then it was an error of line judgment then rather than length?

There's no doubt the toss has been a significant factor in both of the two games so far. You have to be pretty dominant to beat a team that is batting first on a road that wears out.
Which explains how England should've won the 1st Test and also should've done better towards getting a 2nd Test win how exactly?

Love the way people write someone off after 4 Tests spread out (in which he contributed strongly towards a draw in two of them)
Perhaps it's his entire record plus his entire cluelessness that makes the non-blinkered "North East=God" people read it more realistically?

And whoever said G. Jones is an option [even though an ouside option] needs to be slapped. That is an absolute no go.
Regarding Jones though, one thing that has to be said is how he's now played 2 Tests with asolutely no criticism for his keeping.

He has got better with each series to his credit. Although i still wouldnt trust him to take a match winning catch :D

Shoaib

Banned
When Shahid Afridi has been banned & Abdul Razzaq still unfit, either Yasir Arafat or Azhar Mahmood should've been included in the squad for thirs test as they've been showing good performance in first class cricket for more than 3 years now.Mohammad sami should also be replaced by Mohammad Asif who is a one of the best young prospects that we have ATM.Anyway, this is likely to be Pakistan team for the 3rd test:

Shoaib Malik
Salman Butt
Younis khan
Inzamam-Ul-Haq*
Mohammad Yousuf
Asim Kamal
Kamran Akmal+
Allmighty
Rawalpindi Express
Mohammad Asif
Danish Kaneria

That's all well and good, but looking at it objectively, he is the best bowler England possess by a long distance, so we do have to use him.
well yea but, england's management knowing that bowling him that much even though he's their best bowler could cause a breakdown, they should try to do something to minimize the amount of overs he bowls.

so Blackwell has been called up to replace Giles in the ODI series, thats good IMO since i have been impressed with him this season & hopefully with some good performaces he could hold down a permanent spot in the ODI side for a while.

Btw does anyone know if Strauss will be back for the ODI's or his his tour over?

..that has to to be the statement of the year

and also, Lahore Wicket Turning?
Giles is not as terrible as you would like to think, and i think he still can trouble the Pak batsmen.

As for Lahore wkt, i read somewhere that it might be a turning one.I hope that's the case, would be nice to see both Giles and Kaneria bowling on a responsive wkt, rather than toiling hard on a dead track all day long.

It was an error in height judgement (alongside line, as I duly indicated in my post) because the ball bounced lower than the batsman expected it to.

Personally i find a bit far fetched the idea that a batsman of Tresco's class would be leaving a ball on length grounds in Pakistan.
