Based on what we've seen in this series, Shah, Solanki, Hoggard, Prior, Mahmood and Ali should be gone.

Blackwell should only retain his place while Giles is injured.

Trescothick, Vaughan, Jones and Harmison must all come back.

Perhaps a squad of:
Trescothick
Vaughan
Bell
Strauss
Pietersen
Flintoff
Collingwood
Jones
Blackwell (till Giles returns if he ever does)
Harmison
Jones
Anderson
Plunkett

And pick from that according to conditions.

Way to avoid the fringe players by naming a 13-man squad.

Hell, even Yuvraj Singh shouldn't be in the Indian ODI squad.
Here's my squad: Rahul Dravid.

India doing it pretty well after the 2 quick wickets of Uthappa (should have made a ton on debut :() and Dravid.

Yuvraj and Raina have played sensibly. 67 from 59 needed with Pathan and Powar still to come.

Lol, forgive me.

Anyway how well has Raina and Yuvraj played? They've done it with ease!

21 from 20 needed.

Cannon fodder Kabir gets his usual token wicket(s) at the end to make his average look not as horrible as it should be.

Most importantly tho, I had Sreesanth in my fantasy team and it looks like I'm assured of victory.

Congratulations to India on winning the series 5-1. England really need to fix up in ODI's if they are going to be serious contenders for the World Cup. England really should have won this final match. They put on what seemed to me as a defendable total but poor bowling from them with their leg side wides cost them and full credit to India in the way they have played all series. Great debut from Uthappa and great overall performance by India.

Both looked very composed, Raina got a little excited at the end as usual and tried to smash one out over midwicket and got cleaned up. Besides that, solid partnership without much risk involved. Kaif is certainly behind Raina in the pecking order now.

Hats off to Sreesanth. Finally a performance that suits his talent.

My God, Yuvraj won't let a single series go by without winning the big award. That's 3 consecutive MOS honors for him.

Series Review

Overall, another excellent series for Team India. As usual, the big 3 of Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan and MS Dhoni put up solid performances for the team in various roles. The revitalization of Harbhajan Singh and the emergence of Ramesh Powar with both ball and bat would be very heartening for India; both proved to be quite capable of getting the breakthroughs and restricting the run flow in the crucial middle overs. Suresh Raina was always promising but he finally stood up in this series on the merit of his batting and not just his energetic fielding. He looks to be quite a find and should push for a place in the test side very soon. The form of Virender Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif was the main worry for the Indian side and it remains unsettled; Abu Dhabi will be a crucial stage for these two to remain in the scheme of things. The young crop of seamers was rather wayward when presented the opportunity to shine but they should and will be persisted with. Sreesanth's six-fer was a bright sign for a bowler who has looked very good but produced very mediocre figures thus far in his one-day career. In the final match, we also saw an impressive display from the debutant Robin Uthappa which should apply some pressure on Sehwag and give some assurance to Indian fans. Dinesh Karthik was brilliant with the gloves in this rare opportunity and India will be glad to know that there is a more-than-capable backup keeper waiting in the wings, especially in tests. Finally, the captaincy of Rahul Dravid was bold and inspiring as he used the powerplays with innovation and led from the front once again. He still shows a little inexperience and tends to be a "reactive captain" at times, but he's done very well thus far. Looking forward, the Abu Dhabi ODIs offer another chance to experiment a little and Yuvraj deserves a rest in one of those matches. After that, we're headed to the West Indies where it will be important for the test lineup to rebuild some credibility after that forgettable Mumbai disaster.

India make chasing look too easy, well bowled by Sreesanth, didn't start that well but he came back superb, a real talent. Another ODI series gone and England still have questions over the ODI side.

Nice performance by INDIA again.. seem reasonably comfortable chasing..
anyway nice opening by Uthappa(deserved a ton), Yuvi and Raina.. nothin much to say about.. simply superb..

Great win, at the moment this Indian team can chase almost anything, and today they were without Sachin and Dhoni, and whilst they have been in horrid form lately, Sehwag and Kaif as well.

Thumping ODI series win for India, they just keep making strides in this form of the game.

Yeah I realised that when I saw he won the award. He's in one of the best form patches one could imagine, and if Ponting wasn't in an even bigger one, Yuvi would probably get even more attention.

Easily in the top 10 ODI batsman in the world at the moment.

Very, very competent chase from India. Text book really, never looked in any danger.

Sreesanth did bowl well, but a six-for does flatter him quite a fair bit IMHO. Took a few gifts at the end with our lower order playing some ordinary shots. Good for my fantasy team tho! ;) Powar bowled better for mine, but went unrewarded.

Anderson, Ali & Mahmood all looked pretty ordinary today. It was really scary to see the pitch map of that one Mahmood over, not two balls within a foot of each other. I could understand it if he was tearaway fast, but he's not really appreciably quicker than Ali or Anderson.

If Tremlett's fit I think we should definitely have another look at him.
