Playing 5 bowlers now is just plain stupid. We end up using Yuvraj for 5+ overs in every match even when we have 5 bowlers and unnecessarily weaken the batting lineup. I would've preferred 4 today so Venu and Raina bowled too.

Hmm, well it's a good move I suppose, although I wanted to see them have another shot at striking form here. Here's what I'd like.

Powar
Munaf/Harbhajan
VR Singh
Sreesanth

I'd love to see the three quickies bowling together.

Well when 2 of the 5 bowlers bowl rubbish (RP wasn't that bad to be honest) it doesn't really help much. We didn't really have an option but to go with 5 bowlers once Kaif and Sehwag were going to be left out. If the specialists don't bowl rubbish and both Pathan and Powar play, I won't mind 5 bowlers. For this match, I wanted to see the young pace prospects in action together so it's alright. In general though, we seriously need to consider why we should play 5 bowlers if we keep going to the 6th bowler for a full quota. Now I'm thinking VR Singh should've been introduced in the West Indies tests. He clearly hasn't shown any discipline here.

Well exactly, we are not playing both Sehwag and Kaif.. so IMO playing 5 bowlers was a good move, altho it has backfired in the case of VRV.. cheers for clearin it up..

Yeah. As weird as it sounds, I've been waiting for the day these Indian bowlers concede a big total (250-275) so they really get a challenging chase. As good as India has been chasing, the targets haven't been as huge because the bowling has been rather good of late too.
