And judging by the second innings of the warm up, have they learnt anything from Pakistan?

OK, we're scoring at 4 an over, but 194-6 at 4 an over is nowhere near as could as 130-2 at 2.7.

very few players feel the need to concentrate on every ball in a game that doesnt really matter one bit. the point of warm up games are of course to get bat on ball and try to get into good touch, and most players believe that the best way to do that is by playing your strokes.

I would've liked to see them getting time in the middle rather than just going for shots.

Is it not a coincidence that the men who go over the top more have spent very little time out there again?

Yeah but being in the middle for four balls isn't going to settle yourself down.

The next tour match is where england will hopefully try and settle down and improve their game in india.

I'm sort of ignoring all posts because all I wanna say is that this is the series I am most interested in. Granted it was the same way when England went to Pakistan, but winning in India is like winning the French Open, and in some cases, winning a grand slam. There have been teams that could win anywhere, but not India.

England can do it, they have the team to do it. Will they do it? That's why I'm excited. Be nice if there were more spinners though...

Norwood's on Fire
Off his 5 overs Jones has taken 2-9 at an econ of 1.8, hopefully this is an early indication that he will pick up in the First test where he left off at Trent Bridge in August

All over, Cricket Club of India President's XI bowled out for 75 off 26.2 overs. Blackwell finishes with match figures of 6-57...

Cricinfo seems to think there's another wicket to fall - CCI used 12 batsmen in the first innings, and apparently the score is now 75-10 rather than 75ao.

EDIT: Now it's changed to "England win by 238 runs." That's cleared that up.

I don't know who got the last 2 wickets, but at 71-8, only Hoggard and Udalw ere wicketless, so at least everyone is getting amongs the wickets. These matches may not mean much but it is always going to be good for a bowler's morale to pick up wickets.

He averages 90 against India, wouldn't it be nice if he could maintain that
Yes but chances are he won't average half that come the end of the series.

They shouldn't leave it to the last minute, need as much practise as possible IMO.

I doubt it, I can't see England not picking Hoggard even if he is only going to have a minimal workload if the conditions don't help him.
