Another thing, does Simon Taufel have a photographic memory?

He has been immpeccable throughout this series.

I think some people on this forum deserve Mr Udal an apology. I am so pleased for him and it is great to see a real hampsire player perform well in a test match and all at the age of 37

Udal today proved that you can't predict anything in sport, ever.. making pretty much the whole of cricket chat totally pointless..
Wow it only took you 16,000 posts to make your mind up.

I said on this board Udal would do well and that he would suprise people, does that make chat any more meaningful beacause I predicted something right?

It's not simply about prediction though is it? Although alot of it goes on, plenty of interesting discussions and opinions here.

Sachin, Yuvraj, Sehwag and Dhoni average between 19.0 and 21.3 (what a narrow band) for the series. I am not surprised one bit. Dissappointed ? Yes massively surprised at how this last day has panned out..NO , not more than the very early end.
Kaif averaged more than the 4 of them put together!

You just had to bring that up didn't you. I still maintain that England wasted too much time yesterday
As Fletcher said, every time they tried to up the rate they lost a wicket so they did the sensible thing and made sure they got runs on the board.

You're just lucky the Indian lineup capitulated like a bunch of idiots.
Do you seriously think the bottom 5 (including an injured Sehwag) could've survived for 60odd overs of bowling though?

Why are you so confident that Giles wouldn't have taken 4 wickets? He's had plenty of success in the subcontinent previously, apart from when he was well below 100% fit in Pakistan.
It's more to do with the county that Giles plays for...

Technically, you still haven't won a series in India :).
Well Neil wasn't talking about a series win, he was talking about a test Win, which his team won.

England's 212-run margin of victory is their highest in India in terms of runs beating the 202-run win at Chennai in 1934.

So, our team of 1934 performed better than our team of 2006. In 1934, we were brand new, with only amateur players and I bet we had some sense of intelligence then. You know, like not slogging a ball straight to panesar TWICE!@!#!@$!@

Just to rub it it, do we know what India's lowest totals at home are? I'm guessing there haven't been too many less than 100.

Isn't cricket just the best game ever?

It's got to be the best sport for players getting their time in the spotlight, every player get's a chance to shine, look at Udal today, completely useless for the most part, yet he plays a pivitol part in England's victory and gets the spotlight.
He didn't really play a pivotal part, yes he chipped in, as did Hoggard, Anderson and Flintoff (who played the biggest part) in the 100 all out. He took one meaningful wicket and got three freebies at the end when batsmen slogged away and would have gotten out to anyone sooner rather than later.
