That's nothing.

I live in the US. I come home at 5:30pm, go to sleep at 6:00pm...wake up at 10:00pm, finish some work and then watch the game from 11:30am - 7:00am, until I have to work again.

Four hours of sleep per day for every test match.

I think both team has a chance to win the match, England are better placed but at most they have an edge and if they loses 2 quick wkts tomorrow, then India will be in a position to win the match.

It can be a real thriller:)

Couple of umpiring decisions went our way today. I don't think Udal's nick will have any great impact on the outcome of the match (his was an, er, interesting performance for a night-watchman, why no Hoggy?!), but Dhoni's run out could well have proved crucial.

I personally think, by the letter of the law, that the 3rd ump got it wrong: the stumps were clearly broken with MSD short of his ground but the bails were not yet fully dislodged. I think the 3rd ump took the "common sense" approach (the stumps are broken with batter short, bails ended on the ground, therefore bails must've been dislodged) which is the opposite of the 3rd ump in Pakistan (was it Younis Khan who looked similarly short? I can't remember?).

Interesting how two officials can see v similar incidents in totally different ways.

I agree, but rather than interesting I'd probably describe it as pretty woeful :p Its not like umpire inconsistency in other sports where its during like action and its how they interpret the actual situation they see differently to another umpire, this is simply making a decision based on a replay, and how two professional int'l umpires can come to two different conclusions is beyond me. Particularly when the amount of elite int'l umpires is fairly small. Surely they have discussions on subjects like this, and they all know to do the same thing?

Well if Chappell was a Premiership manager I imagine he'd be wailing about "officials' inconsistency"! :p

Probably rightly so, in all honesty. I was always lead to believe the benefit of any doubt goes to the batter.

Rowdy crowd abuses England players

Rowdy crowd abuses England players

MUMBAI: A rowdy Indian crowd at a packed Wankhede Stadium here jeered English players during third and final cricket Test on Monday throughout the day’s proceedings using abusive language. Those at that particular section of the North Stand of the Stadium were mainly targeting the English players. When the situation seemed to get out of control, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials requested the crowd in Marathi to avoid using abusive language. But it had little effect and they continued shouting and jeering. One of the slogans was aimed at English team’s paceman Matthew Hoggard and that could be written about, was ‘Hoggie is a Doggie’.

Makes a change from "Hoggy is an inbred Yorkshire ****" I suppose. I'm pretty sure which one Hoggy prefers, too.

To be fair to the 3rd umpire, there are news reports that the red light (out ) was displayed on the big screen before he could make any decision. Since someone already jumped the gun and pressed the red light, Hariharan had to press the red button.

Also I like the attitude of our young players who are not bothered about the umpring decisions and are willing to move on. That attitude will take them a long way. I also like Santh and Munaf's attiitude after so many catches were dropped, they sure get frustrated but they dont let it affect their body language and get on with their bowling. This is something you will never see in Srinath, Zaheer, Kumble, Bhajji etc

I think Mumbai's crowd is pathetic, the way they attacked Sachin and now this..:@
Please dont use such words against the civilized mumbai crowd, our resident Crowd expert will (who hails from Mumbai) might get mad at you. But dont worry, right now he is in hiding.

You can find Osama but you cant find him. ;)

I'd argue that with each failure it's looking more likely - but then I come from the "form is temporary, class is permanent" school of thinking. :)
yeah one can always hope, you know that from his own failures and the crowd behaviour and the increasing questions about his place in the team will burst forth one angry, brilliant performance....but then i have always been more of a pessimist....so that's where that thinking comes from....:)

I go to the same Gym as Marcus Trescothick, and the rumours that have been floating around there all of a sudden, are that his wife was getting Hilary'ed by another guy as he left for India...

He was told of this in India, and came back to try and get to the bottom of what was going on.. Still rumours of course, not reliable information..

In India there are rumors that he ran over in fear of facing Munaf!

Of course these are rumors, not reliable info though!

Exactly. I was so impressed by the way Sreesanth just went back to his crease bustling in for another wicket-taking delivery after Yuvraj dropped the sitter at gully. These guys not only have ability, but also the confidence and the right mentality.

Reports came out yesterday that Ganguly was at the Wankhede and was nowhere to be found during Dhoni's run-out. Accusations are flying.
