***Official*** England in India

That ends a pretty poor batting performance by India. England did brilliantly.

Our lower order/tail have been bailing us out far too often lately. Dhoni did it against SL, and Pathan and Dhoni did it in Pakistan, and now its been Kumble as well. Hopefully our top order can do something in the 2nd innings.

As the Indian innings ends I have mixed emotions about the days play. My inital reaction is one of relief that the tailenders were finally dispatched of, but I cant help feel dissapointed that they were able to add many valueable runs to the Indian total. 121 is a fantastic lead regardless and the team did well to keep India under 300 and we must not overlook that even if it should have been so much better.

Anderson was brilliant today as was Geriant Jones and in general we didnt field to bad and Freddie did a great job in the positioning. The captain himself didnt bowl as well as I hoped.

Overall, a solid lead and we are still in a very good position

Good lead there for England. Now they just have to be patient and set something like 400 for India. That said, they need India to go for it, otherwise I fear Dravid would just be able to secure a draw.

And I'm loving Cricbuzz

Good start for Patel here....I have a horrible feeling he is going to take a wicket before the play ends for the day
Haha don't worry. The fools on cricbuzz are all expecting a bare minimum of four. If England get through the day with all wickets, or at least 9, in hand, it'd be hard to lose.

Good stuff Patel, I was just about to say why he is bowling from around the wicket... well that's why!

TMS discussing Sehwag's current absence from the field - what are the rules about the circumstances in which he wouldn't be allowed to bat above number seven? I can't remember.

Cricinfo are taking forever to report on the 3rd ball of Patel's over - which usually mean a wicket has fallen
