Is this Scotlands hidden weapon that is gonna win them the World Cup?
No, he's gonna put India in to bat in the final just to live up to his repuation and end up paying for it.

I wouldnt go that far, if we finish 260-4 that is not bad at all for the first day
But with Shah's condition which is unlikely to be 100% then it could be five-down very fast with Go-Jo at 7 and rabbits from there on in.

Agreed, it wouldn't be the end of the world but I would say that India have shaded it.

Santh & Patel have bowled well today but Pathan hasn't. Don't think we'll see the new ball today as its also RSing abit now
Hence the expression "He was just RSing about", I suppose.

It'll be intresting to see how this England team fits together when everyones fit again.

Bell hasn't impressed me at all, i was hoping for him to do well, but he's gave his wicket away once to often. Shah looked really strange, but 50 on debut isn't bad.

Pitch is beginning to play an enormous number of tricks now. 350-400 would put England at a huge advantage (or would if we had any bowlers ;))

TBH i don't think it is, the odd one is turning and bouncing, and there's some reverse swing, but i think it'll look flat again when Dravid gets his teeth into it

Its just that the Indian bowlers have come a bit to life with the two wickets. The wicket is still the same.

England are also playing for close of play. That makes the bowling look better.

Makes Dravid's decision even worse in that case.

Great day for England, especially is Owais can come in tomorrow and add to his 50. The KP wicket was a blow but he never looked well set for a big innings. Should be a god day of cricket tomorrow.

Whatever it takes!!!
:@ Dravid... Well, given all the injury worries of England, I guess they deserved a huge GIFT. ;)

But that was an Edgbastonesque gesture. :p

I've seen 5 or 6 balls go through the top - a couple even did it just after lunch when Killer was bowling - and that doesn't happen very often on the first day.

I just get the impression that there will be inconsistent bounce as opposed to the usual 'slower and lower'.

What you say is true though - Dravid always gives me the impression that he has the ability to flatten a pitch by will-power alone.

"Is that the heavy roller in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?"

A good opening day, in fact a great opening day for England. I had worte thier chances off prior to the match but Im starting to believe that maybe we can win this one. Then again, if this is what we do to the Indian attack imagine what they will do to our much weakened bowling line up

A great tactical blunder by dravid on opting to field after winning the toss. The decision was mind blowing to say the least.India as usual again has gone in with 5 bowlers and one batsman short and mind you they have to bat last on this crumbling pitch with a batsman short.
England put up a good display at 272/3 and in a good position to wrap up this match, unless the indians play out of their skin to conjure a win.
Lets see what tendulkar does under this extreme pressure.Dravid's decision
Irfan's pathan's bowling was rubbish to say the least. he bowled like zaheer khan today. No pace and no venom. All in all a poor day for india .:thumbdown :thumbdown
