well this lead is big enough england should not bat anymore tommorow, all i hope is that 1 day is enough to bowl India out because i would hate to think that after playing so well India in the end sneak out a gain a draw.

I'm not completely confident they won't get 360, if we declare.
Why? Look at how economical the spinners have been. Unless Sehwag gets as many lives as KP they shouldn't get anywhere near.

Sehwag and Dhoni worry me, if they get starts.

Interesting to note that the two guys with the highest batting averages in the England side now are Cook and Collingwood.

We managed to do that in Multan and still lost the Test...
A cloud for my silver lining! :p

Different match tho, we're in a position where we can totally bat India out of it if we so choose, it's just a question of how badly do we want to win? I suspect we'll be brave & declare overnight, but that does leave India with a sniff with their batting.

India have no chance to win if Eng declare - slowish pitch, low scoring rates, safety first psychology and an underconfident batting lineup will have to score at 4 an over over 90 overs to win it. I'm pretty sure India wil be happy to get out of this match on level terms at this point in time.

I think England have a damned good chance of winning this one...I said before this match that the Indian middle order isnt all its made out to be and when you get passed Dravid, you have a chance....and what happens, India lose 6 for 50 in 20 odd overs in the first innings...

England have the bowling attack to cause all sorts of trouble for India..Sehwag being the player who could turn it for India...but he has basically done nothing throughout his career in the 4th innings of tests.

The odds on an England win at 7/2 are pretty tempting

Leaving the opposition with a sniff of victory actually enhances your own chance of winning. It's easy to assume that England could have had an extra 60 or 70 runs (if KP hadn't got out, if Cook had hit out and got out, if Fred had come in instead of Collingwood, if Pieface or Oops had had a slog) but that would have seen India totally out of the game.

Oh, I agree totally. If India didn't have an earthly they'd obviously be totally in match-saving mode (although I suppose that's relative with Sehwag, has he ever played a defensive knock?) whereas now if they were (say) 200-ish for 3 or 4 down at tea they might just be tempted to try for the win.

They'd certainly deserve the win if they make 370-ish on a day 5 track! It hasn't really deteriorated as promised tho.

England would be wise to declare overnight and give India the temptation to go for a win. That'll lead to stupid aggression and England will have less difficulty bowling them out in such circumstances. India should go for the draw, this batting needs to sort itself out and we're better off taking a fresh start in the 2nd test.

The odd ball exploded out of the wicket (not just out of the rough) - especially from Kumble. The choice of roller could be interesting tomorrow - I don't think the wicket's going to fall apart, but we could do with someone dancing the light Afridi on it to help it along.

Go for Blackwell I think. Pitch would definitely fall apart if he did an Afridi shuffle on it and it probably doesn't matter too much if he gets banned anyway...
