*Official* England in India 2023/24 #CryMoreTour

England management need to learn that once in a lifetime results are just that, and thet playing by the same formula again doesn't work.
Crawley middles Axar into the stand instead of a top edge and things probably end up very differently.

Was the key moment of the innings. Not sure England management fault that Bumrah is going for the GOAT seamer in India status.

Whatever it takes!!!
Another thing going for England is that they get two bites of the cherry as far as the new ball and Anderson are concerned. They got about 5 or 6 overs today and then another big spell from Anderson first up tomorrow morning. And with the 9:30 starts, there is always a bit of help from overhead, which is often Anderson's best friend, at least for the first half hour or so.

India must be so annoyed though that they have their 2 best pace bowlers since Kapil at the same time but can hardly ever get them on the park together.
There was a glorious time around 2018-19 when we had all of Shami, Umesh, Ishant, Bhuvi, Bumrah AND Hardik to pick from. :(

We made crappy decisions and lost series we could have drawn or won overseas but it was still so much better than what we have today in terms of bench strength. :(

Difference between the sides is the best performers for us were eclipsed by their equivalents.

It will be interesting to see how we approach it if the target is 500ish as I don’t recall that happening in the Bazball era

It's a simple probability theory here. If he would've played smartly (which bazball doesn't allow) then there is no question of top edging vs middling.
It was an arrogant moment, which is what bazball is and will finally show them what it will do to them in this game and next 3 games!

It was not arrogant at all.. It was a ball on the offside and Axar was the 3rd spinner. They were targetting the weak link. Ball just spun more than he expected. You could have said the same about Pope had any of the balls he missed/mistimed with all those behind the wicket sweeps and scoops caused his dismissal.
