Of all the shitty commentators hired by the BCCI over the years, Murali Kartik might be the worst. Manjrekar and Chopra can be oily and unpleasant beyond compare but Kartik is just trite. And argumentative too. I'm sure he would've relentlessly pursued the "Jaiswal shouldn't start hitting out" line if it was anyone other than Shastri contradicting him. Yesterday he was hung up over teams announcing their XIs on the eve of a game and kept pestering Morgan about it.

It's probably a mug's game worrying too much about England losing in India, especially when it's down to two world class individual performances from guys who were simply too good for us. I suppose we need to bowl them out for sub-150 to give us any sort of a shout, but it's looking a long way back from here.

If we do end up on the wrong end of a hammering here, maybe they'll rethink the strategy of only having one of the quicker bowlers. In all four innings so far, India's openers have been able to make a highly comfortable start against whichever spinner has been given the new ball.

It was not arrogant at all.. It was a ball on the offside and Axar was the 3rd spinner. They were targetting the weak link. Ball just spun more than he expected. You could have said the same about Pope had any of the balls he missed/mistimed with all those behind the wicket sweeps and scoops caused his dismissal.
Yea but no game awareness? Just hit a boundary ball before, was there a need to go again while still trailing by close to 300?
Yea Axar is a third spinner but but not a club bowler or part timer like root.
Anyways he rightly paid the price for it!

Another stupid call from bazball. Benching world class option like Ollie Robinson.
If they had options like Mukesh I would understand not picking him and going with 3 spinners.
If anything India needed to go with just one seamer since the other one is just a useless baggage.

Gotta say Crawley's strokeplay looks as imperious as any right-handed batsman I've seen. If only he had better defense and half a brain to go with it.

Cinephile/Bibliophile combo lol.

My 2024 reading is Blood Meridian, Gravity's Rainbow and the Master and the Margarita.
Blood Meridian is obviously one of the greatest novels ever, and McCarthy’s joint best, but Suttree(the other one) is equally good and even closer to me cause of the lovely prose
