Can we get details of the use of the supersub and powerplays?
Brendon Goff used both his powerplays between the 10th and 21st overs. Reuben Verghese was subbed in for Neil Pickup after the 45th over. He did not bowl or bat, but did field 1 ball at short fine leg.

Michael Vaughan used one powerplay between the 10th and 16th overs. Vikram Solanki was not used.

Thanks. Good to see Reuben getting involved there.

You'd think Vaughan'd be intelligent enough to chuck him in to see if they could get a vaguely defendable score

And have to use Trescothick as a 5th bowler? With Solanki as the SuperSub, I'd think Vaughan would have fancied his chances of defending 190odd with a full bowling attack than to defend 230 or 240odd with a bowler short.

How does it work?
Bowling attributed to a non-bowler, batting attributes to a non-batsman. Scorecard edited at the end. It has a flaw, but it's not as likely to be exposed.

Great start to the one day series, all the bowlers bowled great line and length and the batsman looked in good touch to chase down the smallish total. Bring on game number 2!

Are you serious?

The power plays have replaced the inital 15 overs fielding restrictions. Now the first 10 overs are the only mandatory overs where there are fielding restrictions. The captains then have the option of using 2 more power plays of 5 overs each whenever they wish during the innings.

Top effort there lads. We put England away very comfortably. The day really belonged to our bowlers and fielders. There were no major slip ups in the fields and the bowling was really disciplined. It was a joy to watch at first slip.

It was good to get a good stint out in the middle with Campsie and all but wrap up victory. How good is Butler looking though. 36 off 20 balls just to play with the English bowling line up.

Great win first up. Good to see the bowlers doing well and the batsmen not facing too much problems in getting the target.

He is only the second player to represent the country with a given name beginning with B, the other being captain Brendon Goff.

The favourite to be the next player to join the list is NS Hoy, of Cricket Web Green, Nathan has made his name as a great bowler, who can bat, a bit like Bryce himself.
