It's not that far behind ffs.
3 hours between AEDST and AWST. A 11:20am start in Perth means a 2:20pm start in Sydney. When day-nighters start at 2:30pm generally, it's not that far off feeling like a day-nighter to watch a day game in Perth.

Yes, there's just no way they can get away with anything, they know that better than we do.These incident always look tons worse in slow motion, rather than looked at, at the speed it happened.
An extrodinarily reasonable point of view. I pretty much agree with this and that goes for Australians, Englishmen or any cricketer at the international level.

THen there's the fact that any incident that gets labelled as "cheating" is the result of people genuinely convincing yourselves something has happened, as a result of really wanting it to.

Not only are these players wanting their team to win, their personal livelihoods are on stake every time they play. So from time to time, they're going to be convinced something marginal is definately in their favour. It's a more prominent version of bias in the commentary box.

Hence rubbish reviews, claimed catches, dodgy lbw appeals and the rest.

I honestly think this was more of a ****-up from Prior than anything cynical.

Agreed with that. Also think that the posters here and the folks publicly trying to play it down such as Clarke, and, erm... some other people are doing a good thing, there really is nothing to be gained at all by throwing around accusations of cheating. And on that note, interesting to note that Botham was on comms at the time of the incident yet apparently said not a word.

That's because Botham is a partisan, bellicose boor.

Botham in prickish commentary shocker.

What a game. Was away on a retreat with people from college and the place we were staying in didn't have a TV so as the chase got closer we ended up just depending on the Cricinfo updates on my phone and a few text messages from a mate. Glad to see Clarke suggest that he can play an uptempo innings when need be; still has a long way to go to prove it though. Good signs nonetheless.

Think the key to Clarke's knock was less the fours/six he hit (which weren't that many anyway), it was the fact that he got a ton of singles - so less dotss - and lots and lots of twos, tbh. The kind of knock Hussey has played so often in 08/09.

EDIT: Although when push came to shove and we needed plenty per over at the end he was able to find the rope immediately.

Never mind Hussey - Clarke in 2007 was the batsman who played the fewest number of dot balls in the world.

Yeah I totally agree with this analysis and watching it at the time I was wondering to myself where this Clarke had been over the last year or so. All he changed in his game was that he wasn't wasting every second ball.

Have to say, no Watson or Clarke means my interest in tomorrow's game is notably reduced.
That and being 5-1 up, presumably.

I hate to repeat myself, but our WC squad selection looks really arse about face. What is the point of Wright or Tredwell being there when it seems pretty obvious that, even with an injury situation that would have to improve to merely be a crisis, the two Andys don't much rate either.

Good grief this one day series has been a disaster for injuries.

Lets pray there are no more, couldn't care less about the result.

I always knew that Lee by Tenacious D would be used in a Brett Lee montage, I remember I listened to it on repeat during that Champions Trophy match against Pakistan where he and Hauritz were batting, trying to chase about 170 odd, that was the best hahaha.

Anyway, I can't believe I forgot about Steven Davies haha.

don't think there's a edge on that and think he just got himself outside the line
