*Official* England in Australia (2 T20 & 7 ODIs)

Nice flight, Yardy was nowhere near the pitch of that delivery. A very good bowler in this format is Doherty.
Certainly don't want Doherty going to the worldcup in case Haurrie doesn't recover, either O'Keffe or Krezja would be much better choices.
Doherty just keeps firing in deliveries at pretty much the same pace, and a bloke like that would get hammered on the slowish SC wickets.

yardy and wright- are they seriously in your best 11? SERIOUSLY? despite your county championships/ 2020 comps an all that ****e, thats the best you have?
England fans said the same about Doherty, Smith, Hughes and Beer in the Tests.

Apparently the cut-off date for announcing WC squads was dictated by the publisher of the official tournament magazine

Guys like Yardy, Prior, etc should thank their lucky stars for such a ludicrous decision

He does vary his pace and flight though, for me he's on the same level with Hauritz in ODIs. We haven't even tried O'Keffe or Krezja so that would be stupid taking them to the WC.

O'Keefe has a dodgy ODD record if I hear correctly and Krezja is not the kind of bowler I want to be bowling in the middle overs of an ODI...

I agree with TumTum.

Doherty is perfectly capable in this format. He takes most of his wickets with nice loop on his deliveries rather than firing the balls in. You don't take Krejza or O'Keefe to the World Cup without testing them out first. Doherty is next in line, he has the years of consistency for Tasmania and he is taking wickets for Australia. All you can ask of him.

I don't know what the comms are on about regarding the over rate.

We have had two video reviews and another review for a no-ball. Trott was getting treatment for his knee for near one full over in time. Add six wickets and that is where the missing two or three overs have gone.

Yeah, perfectly happy with Doherty as the replacement spinner.

Insane number of bowling changes

He hardly bowls a ball below 88 kmph and as a result doesn't get much turn either, Hauritz, O'Keffe or Krezja can vary their pace and lengths which is vital in the sub-continent.
The more important thing is that during the worldcup the spinners are going to be the most potent bowlers for almost every side and the problem with Doherty is that he isn't much of an attacking spinner.

Defies belief that they havent even tried O'Keefe given that he is supposed to be at least as good a bowler and infinitely better with the bat

Trott has been out there since the start of the innings, so its no wonder the over rate is poor.

Can't understand why English batsmen keep playing for the turn while facing Doherty.
Also been pretty impressed with the way Hastings has bowled so far, pretty unlucky not to have a wicket or two to his name.

Gut feeling that England will win here. Trott and Wright are looking OK and they could do something with the ball, particularly if Tremlett and Shahzad get their hands on cloudy conditions.

Why is Healy always sounding so cranky these days... as if he wasn't annoying enough in the first place!!
