LOL @ Halsey and 50p and bins and such.
How did you find that?

Thought the thread had been deleted (it was actualy a 5 pound note - ah, good times).

Anyway, delighted with my recall, hope to make the most of it.

Yes indeed it is, I have very little common sense which means I often do things like that, the rest of the stories in that thread were pretty amusing too (though some were taken out of context for comedic purposes IIRC).

The drama continues at Centurion
4th Test - Cricket Web XI vs South Africa

A fantastic and competitive series rolled on with the same intensity, as the crucial 4th Test went into the final session with both teams desperately pushing for victory. The Cricket Web XI - 2-1 down - needed to prevent defeat to remain in the series, and looked to do so by bringing in Tom Halsey for his first Test on the tour.

South Africa welcomed back Dale Steyn at the expense of Nicky Boje, taking the opposite route in their approach. Graeme Smith won the toss and chose to bat first on a quick pitch.

Ouch.

Painful match, especially on a personal note - Thamba and Halsey kept us in the game really, and with hindsight taking the new ball against Pollock and AB might not have been the cleverest thing. The only thing to be happy with for me is the keeping.

Let it get away from us yet again guys. Super stuff from Thamba, Halsey and to a lesser extent Wilson. Definitely some good signs, but yet again, we can't capitalise on opportunities when we should.

On a personal note, disappointed I threw my wicket away in that 2nd innings with some very loose strokeplay. Can I request some work with the CW XI batting coach to tighten it up? A la Michael Clarke post Ashes.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Ah, damnit :( Hard luck guys. Some top performances in there, thoguh. We jsut can't seem to dominate a game fully and put it away.

Still think we can have a 3-2 scoreline, though. :)

Neil Pickup's 3 wickets in that match takes him to the highest wicket tally for a CW bowler in a single series. He passes John Eddie Sanders' 22 wickets in 4 Tests on the 2004 tour of England and David Kennett's 21 in 2 Tests in Sri Lanka.

It's Pickup's 3rd major milestone of the series.

Dissapointing once again, with a dead rubber coming up, hopefully we can take that into our advantage and gain some respect. Well done to Thamba and Halsey, and Pickup for his bag of records.

Damn. So close to winning that one, we played really well too. Well done to Thamba on another fine century and Halsey was just sensational. Congrats to Neil on the record too. Disappointed personally and it was a shame the team couldn't get the win.

Another disappointing loss there guys, so close but so far. Its really nice to see Thamba, Hasley and Wilson finding their feet at Test Level. All had brilliant games and really stood up when needed. Also good to see Rob get a solid fifty, hopefully he can go on with it next time.

The up and down performances of the opening bowlers is bit disppointing hopefully they start to improve their consistency.
